Woodcutter Simulator - $5 today only.
I can not tell a lie: I cut a tree. A cherry tree. Small sapling, thou: dead thou art, by mine hand, by mine axe, by mine art. Unfruitful forever thou layest, withering and shrivelling into twig upon the plain dark ground.
Forever I shall cut thee: grow thou, from sapling to full wooded trunk, and forever I chop at thee. Forever shalt thou be my punishment, my deliverance, my salvation.
It's a game where you cut trees. There may or may not be chainsaws. For 5 smackers, you might as well find out - it's a bargain!
"I personally enjoyed this game so much that five stars doesn't seem enough for it. It is a time consuming, patience-demanding game that does everything it says it does. Someone remarked in their comments elsewhere that it took them a week to process one tree. It took me four hours to process five during my first play. But, I can understand that if you expect something quick and easy, you won't find it here. Read the description and look at the screenshots. That is exactly what you get, nothing more. But, it is so fun! I can't wait to purchase more these simulator games from Layernet. They have won me over!" -- Satisfied Customer

Rise of the Triad for $3 at GOG.com (today only).
I decided it was probably worth it just for Dog Mode :)
oh goody now lost_soul can buy it again and never ever shut the fuck up about it ever again in threads dedicated to games that weren't made 15+ years ago
RotT was one of the first hyper-violent FPSes I ever played; I have more fond memories of playing it and chuckling as an eyeball splatted against the screen and sailed down it as I exploded some poor git than I do of Doom.
Every now and then, the game would print out LUDICROUS GIBS at the upper right, and your reward would be a double shower of organs from the gormless idiot you just pumped an RPG into. Plus, it had some rather hilariously OTT weapons - a flamewall launcher amongst other things that left charred skeletons standing there, looking surprised, before they collapsed into dusty heaps.
Good times. I still remember the cheats - DIPSTICK to enable, CHOJIN for god mode, and there was another one that enabled ludicrous gibs for everything by default. I'd buy the game, but I'm sure that time has most definitely not been kind to it.
Source ports to the rescue.
