When's the next big Steam sale? I need Opposing Fronts
Probably about 2 weeks for the Black Friday sales.
GetGamesGo servers are terribly slow for me, about 250kbps max or less atm. There is no client. Simple downloader per game, similar to GG. link Wondering if anyone has similar slow download speeds from GGG?
I've never had a problem with GamersGate, very fast game downloads.
yeah, yeah, Steam is fast too.
For Sonic Generations in particular? Both services email you keys for Steamworks games, so their respective download clients are irrelevent.
No, not Sonic. It's a non-steam game on their servers and painfully slow to grab. Just be patient Ladron, be patient.
Thanks for posting all those sales Eva.
I have Deus Ex, Chaser (a good one for Deus Ex/ Alex Brandon fans), Morrowind, and Vampire: Bloodlines' soundtracks on my phone (doubles as my music player. GOGO 16 gig micro SD). But, I rarely listen to them and I have a hard time wrapping my head around some of you folks' rabid fanaticism toward game soundtracks, and even games that aren't nec. known for their music.
Oh well, not judging, just not my thing and I don't really 'get it'.
For me, I don't listen to them when I'm out and about. However, as a backdrop when I'm working on something it can be good to have them in the background. Not all soundtracks work for me - some have a lot of very short tracks where they're only used to highlight incidental events in the game.
Oh, I don't listen to tunes while working on anything other than my engine. Even then, it is usually sports talk radio or just classic rock stations. I usually save music for when I can entirely focus on it, like when I am lifting or taking a long walk.
It's not pretentious, it's just got a really weird sense of humor.
all indie games are pretentious unless they look like AAA games

Serious Sam Indie Royale Pack - current minimum cost is $4.14 USD.
Serious Sam: The First Encounter - Steam
Serious Sam: The Second Encounter - Steam
Serious Sam: Double D - Steam/DRM free/Desura
Serious Sam: The Random Encounter -Steam/DRM free/Desura
Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack - DRM free/Desura (PC debut)
Serious Sam: The Greek Encounter - DRM free/Desura (debuting in this bundle)
Of the previously available titles in the bundle, Serious Sam: The Random Encounter -- available on PC as a DRM-free download, on Steam, and on Desura -- is a refreshing take on the RPG genre, developed by acclaimed indie developer Vlambeer (Super Crate Box, Ridiculous Fishing). Its gameplay is a clever pixelated hybrid of turn-based battles with real-time, run and gun offense and defense maneuvering.
Also part of the pack, Serious Sam Double D is available on PC as a DRM-free download, on Steam, and on Desura, is a hand drawn, side-scrolling shooter featuring over-the-top gameplay and chaotic action from arcade-loving indie Mommy's Best Games (Weapon Of Choice, Explosionade).
Next, making an exclusive debut on PC in this Lightning Pack is a DRM-free download and Desura PC version of Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack. Developer Be-Rad Entertainment's offering (originally available exclusively on smartphones) is a Canabalt-style action-platformer where players control the Headless Kamikaze enemy, striving to accomplish the bad guy's dream of blowing up the vile Serious Sam on every level.
And as a special bonus, Croteam, the indie team who originated the Serious Sam franchise, offers the original Serious Sam: The First Encounter and Serious Sam: The Second Encounter games for PC, redeemable on Steam. These two original titles are packed with the arcade-action style first-person shooting that the Serious Sam series is known for, including gonzo single- and multi-player modes.
Finally, we've decided to unleash our special bonus up front, as a world exclusive Indie Royale debut. Serious Sam: The Greek Encounter is an 8-bit, top-down "demake" of Serious Sam, specially commissioned by Team Fortress Arcade and Halo/DJ Hero demake author Eric Ruth. It's available for PC as a DRM-free download and on Desura, and sees Serious Sam in ancient Greece battling the relentless hordes of Mental's army in an all-new retro 8-bit adventure.
This new Lightning Pack will run for just 100 hours, under the same pricing model as before: the price will automatically increase as more people buy the pack. Those generous buyers who pay more than the current minimum can decrease the price for other purchasers.
