Thread: Taffer Art *Post thy works Here*

  1. #651
When viewing the image in your gallery you wish to post, select the download link. This will give you the address of the jpg image which you can link to here. Once you have that, use the button on your toolbar while posting in this forum that looks like a moon over some mountains with a yellow sky. That will open up a dialog where you can place the image address. There is a 800 pixel limit for width on images you post to the thread, and an 8 image limit on posts.

Is this your first stained glass project, Benvox2, or have you done others?
This is my very first attempt at Stained Glass ever, I always liked the Stained Glass from Thief and one day i just thought, Im going to make that, and I did.

Looking forward to pumping out more too.

Nice artworks on atmosphere and objects detail, ArtofDutch.

    Somehow I feel horribly,horribly quilty

    Sorry DN

Anyway the whole point of this is to get my art on The Circle.
So what happens next? Do I need to qualify or something?

    Thanks

  14. #664
Choosing which bits of fan art to display at the circle is entirely subjective; there's really no ground rules or qualification process at all. (There is one small rule, and that is I don't gank fan-art from other people's sites and galleries to post to the circle... I limit it to people who post to this thread or contact me directly, or vice versa...) You can't even really call it a 'best of' as that would be me assuming too much. Really, it's just a collection of my personal favorites. I also tend to not put in a piece as soon as I see it ... they have to grow on me a bit first, and I usually only update the gallery when there's two or three new pieces I want to add.

That said, your black and white piece is very nice, and we are very long overdue for an update.

    From The Circle's news section:

We were long overdue for a huge update to the fan art gallery. Click that link to see how great the index looks with all of the new thumbnails from the new artists; truely a storm of talent. Three gallery regulars have expanded their collections; Clockwork Mifune, Redface, and Silmuen, thumbnailed below.

New faces, in alphabetical order (with thumbnails in matching order), include Art of Dutch, Cocolin, Finial, First Keeper with five new images, Julia with four, kissgz, and Screech.

If you love Thief fanart as much as I do, be sure to check out the thread on the topic, from which many of these gallery items were hand-picked. A huge thanks goes to all of the artists - some of the most talented people doing fanart for any game.
Edit: The images by Julia were all works in progress and not meant to be shown yet. Oops! I jumped the gun. Got too excited with all of the artwork I guess!

Woohoo!! I'm happier than Benny with a bottle of wine. Finally got a pic up on my fav Thief site!

    Thanks a bunch.
I'l be sneaking by with another soon...

    Nice!
Digi, please add for First Keeper's gallery:

I did put his priest in the gallery.

I did not post the enforcer because it looks too much like this:

Actually clearing, are you in touch with Dim_Walker or Odora? I like their artwork on your site, but since they haven't posted art here I don't want to use it without permission.

I wrote her letter on e-mail. You may use
Also you may use any art.

Are you sure? Wouldn't want an artist to stumble in one day and go, Hey?! Why is my artwork here?! Thief!! ...

    And that link is broken!

Ok. I'll once again write to all russian artists and inform you later

I really liked artwork by thesntnl, dim walker, odora, david grier, kinnas, and phomax. I hope to get their permission to post their artwork.

But I saw some problems. One is here:
    http://darkfate.ru/index.cgi?thumbs=...thief_by_rojak

I do not know who Rojak is, but that artwork is by Matthew Almand and was made for me for the website. I have a better version around here somewhere that you can put in Matt's gallery, but the gallery for Rojak should be deleted. It looks like he edited it badly to hide the fact that he stole it from my front page!

    The other is here:
    http://darkfate.ru/index.cgi?thumbs=...eathmetalprime

That is a ripoff of a piece of artwork by Tazio Bettin. The very same image is featured in your own gallery of Tazio's work. DeathMetalPrime probably thought that it was official artwork he was copying and meant no harm, but still I think that image should be removed.

    And this...
    http://darkfate.ru/index.cgi?thumbs=...arrett_by_gill

Is certainly official Thief 2 artwork... and I can see no ways in which it was edited. Surely it was posted as being done by Gill by mistake? That is definitely not his work.

Finally, you have galleries for both Digital Nightfall and Master Nightfall - both are me! And I belive that TheImmortalThief and TheUndead are the same person as well.

Rojak - deleted, deathmetalprime - deleted, gill - deleted. Master Nightfall and TheUndead also removed.

  24. #674
    And all is set right!

I edited my post above to contain a link to the "real" version of Almand's painting. Feel free to put it in his gallery.

Well, but I like the enforcer. After all this one seems to be self-made and you also have his Old Quarter painting on your website, which is adopted from the TDS loading screen. I don't think that's so questionable.
