I stuck a bunch of different creatures: Hammerite, guard, zombie, burrick, haunt, spider, etc. When you play it, the zombie (of course) is always the last survivor of the mass clash of chaos and fighting. Here's what I learned: - clicking the grid "use" button in the lower left corner of DromEd is a "snap to grid" button. - you can place a light source that is not associated with an object by clicking "light" and creating one in the 2d window (I think this is how they made the hall lights in Cragscleft after you go up the stairs from the mines) - don't forget to portalize - when you create the purple box "room", it comes out flat. You have to resize the 3rd dimension so it envelopes your level areas. - if you equip Garrett with the wrong sword, he can't use any weapons questions: - what's the difference between "area" and the first word on the list? - for some reason, when I get close to the enemies, they highlight even though they are still alive and moving! I can then "pick them up" and they'll be a corpse. But when I drop 'em, they're alive again, except they're LYING ON THE FLOOR and stuck trying to walk around phased into the floor! - how do you scroll the 2d windows? Please share what you've learned in the initial stages... ------------------ - Kung Fu Gecko : www.autobahn.org/~gbchoy/geckobeach/pcgames Garrett88 Member posted May 28, 1999 01:19 PM have not really tried it yet but can Garrett use the JEWELED DAGGER? ------------------ Beware the dawn of The Metal Age. Ithel Member posted May 28, 1999 01:25 PM kfgecko-- LOL! Put a few more hammers in to even up the odds. BTW, if you make sure a brush is completely highlighted (ie. all walls, ceiling, floor -- this can be done by clicking a brush in 2d and making sure it says "default" down at the bottom of the screen), then hit "shift" + "insert" and a 3d purple box is created with a perfect fit. Trimfect Junior Member posted May 28, 1999 02:33 PM You can pick up enemies if you have not loaded the ConVict. Also you can't use doors and such without it. Scolling 2D windows is tricky. There are 2 methods that I use. 1) Either rightclick your viewpoint to place where you want to center the screen and then hit ALT-SPACE. Use zoom and unzoom to move faster. 2) Press ] (I think) and then CTRL-X to enable X-Mouse. No you can scroll the window where your mouse is with the keypad. There was the adjustment of how much it scrolls, but I can't remember what it was. Anyway, as far as I know, you can't scroll with mouse, and that takes some time to get used to. boojum Member posted May 28, 1999 03:01 PM When you create a brush (other than an object brush) such as a room brush, you rectangle it out with the mouse in two out of three dimensions, depending on which 2d view you're in; the third dimension defaults to the dimension of the last brush you had selected. If it was a light or something small, it'll be zero (due to grid) but if it was your big room-digging air brush, it should be large. Another useful thing is the dromed command brush_to_room N, which creates a room brush larger by N than the brush you have selected (again, good to use on your room-digging air brush). -Laura All times are ET (US)next newest topic | next oldest topic To close this thread, click here (moderator or admin only).
