Someone mentioned that they hacked into Thief to gain invincibility, and all the weapons and unlimited ammo. Could anyone that knows how to do this, tell me how? --Gracius Night IP: Logged |

Psst Lytha Will IS WORSE THAN THE HAMMERITE INQUSITOR WHEN IT COMES TO CHEATS(HACKS)I KNOW I ASKED!!!I love unlimeted arrows too and God mode. IP: Logged |

The thought of it makes me cringe. [This message has been edited by Willard (edited June 12, 1999).] IP: Logged |

Lytha sneaks in and kills Gracius Night with one single well aimed broadhead into his head. Sorry, but if you want to cheat, then go to the doom clones and frag whoever you want to. Thief needs no cheating stuff. Or you are just to clumsy and too moronic. Sorry. Only my opinion. But I really hate cheaters. Welcome in the forum, we like Undead here, tho. IP: Logged |
| Kronus New Member |
Lytha, why the animosity? I mean, sure, I don't understand why anyone would want to cheat. But if they want to deprive themselves of the joy of finishing the game based on wits and skill alone, let them. It's their loss. P.S. Congrats on making it thru the Greiving Burrik on impossible. I still can't find the ruby scepter anywhere! IP: Logged |

Well... this was more the description about the beta of the GatB 1.0. By the way, I think the 1.1 should be out now. Get it, it has the ruby sceptre. Why the animosity? Well, I hate cheaters. They are whiney clumsy idiotic people who are mostly kiddies (I dislike kiddies, you know, they are so stupid), and they will overflood this forum with their idiotic threads such as "Hey, MASTER-KILLER****!!SDAFHASF-Clan!!**** has done the entire game in 11 Minutes and killed everyone. Huh-huh-huh! He is really A c00l guy!! Huh-huh-huh!" Lytha shrugs. Well, I hate them. Go to battle.net and try to play Diablo in a non cheating way, and you will see the origin of my hate. They are idiots, morons, kiddies, bastards, dick-heads. In one word: They are cheaters. IP: Logged |

I told ya not toeven ask.now you are dead. (But THE BLACK KNIGHT takes out a book on haw to cheat in THIEF:The Dark Project and shows it too Lytha she starts crying saying nonooooo nooo and runs but wileshe runs I shoot her in the leg with a arrow the tie her to a chair and maker play Thief cheating HAHAHAHAHAHAHAhAh!!!!!!!!! IP: Logged |
| Lytha Moderator |
Well. TBK. No. And no. IP: Logged |
| Lytha Moderator |
Firstly: I would never run away crying just because a moron like you showed a book to me. Secondly: You clumsy idiot are too clumsy to shoot me into the leg. Thirdly: You dick-head were never able to tie me to a chair. And even if so, you would more likely get a huge surprise by myself after a few seconds. Lytha hears the loud and clumsy footsteps of the TBK as he tried to sneak behind her. He had this book in his hands, and a sadly trying-to-look-wicket grin in his acne-scarred face. Lytha smiles, and turns to him, blackjack readied. The TBK runs away in terror. IP: Logged |
| Lytha Moderator |
Well... or we try to hit the F12 now. I am not sure, if you would, i.e., enjoy a broadhead in your small vital point, TBK. IP: Logged |
| Lytha Moderator |
However. Lytha shoots the TBK a broadhead in the butt as he runs away in his terror. The TBK starts whining now. Sorry. Just leave me alone and hack whatever you moron want to hack. And don't cross my way. IP: Logged |
| Lytha Moderator |
She steps over to the whining and wimpering TBK on the floor, who is helplessly crying in plain horror and agony. She draws her sword, and ponders to finish his short life now, but decides that no. His life is so sadly because of his idiocity that it is worse to let him being alive and suffer. She goes away. IP: Logged |

She can be really dangerous if she becomes fierce, and right now, she's just a bit annoyed... look, (k)night, both of you, do yourselves and everybody here a favour and DONT CHEAT. Thief is a game where you can win without cheating. And thats not too hard, unless you want it to. You dont need to know special secret codes or areas or powerups or whatelse, you dont have to have lighning-fast reflexes. The only thing you need is a bit of brain, and patience. IP: Logged |

Well, his email adress is cody@planters.net ... just in case that he might hide it now. At least his profile says this. IP: Logged |

You think real hackers could feel insulted by 'lack brains use of their title and do some bad things to his electronic presence? Nah, why should they care for Mr. Butthead. I dont worry about him anymore. But I hope Gracius Night doesn't play the matching Beavis for him. [This message has been edited by GreyMouser (edited June 12, 1999).] IP: Logged |

Oops, is that a hacker on your pedestal? To preserve the peace and quiet in our little den of thieves is as noble a cause as any. If only because little ratheads like BK overflow the sewers of almost any other forum. IP: Logged |
| Datoyminaytah Member |
Hey, TBK, just download DromEd and the unstripped versions of the Thief misions. You can find out a lot about the game that way. Like how to get into the front gate of Bafford's without alerting the
guards. (Datoyminaytah dodges a hail of arrows from the other forum members.) Hey, I didn't tell you how, just that it was possible! IP: Logged |

I DIDN'T ASK FOR ALL OF THIS NONSENSE. I ASKED HOW TO HACK INTO THE GAME OT GET THINGS. I DIDN'T ASK ANYTHING ELSE, WHY ARE PEOPLE STRAYING FROM THE TOPIC. LYTHA, IF YOU DON'T LIKE CHEATERS THAN WHY ARE YOU IN MY TOPIC? IF SOMEONE KNOWS HOW TO HACK INTO THE GAME THEN TELL ME? THAT IS ALL... --GRACIUS NIGHT IP: Logged |

OK. I know, and I don't tell you or anyone. And I hope nobody else does. That's it. IP: Logged |

Hey, shouting. Good idea. Well... but then again. No. No good idea. Only immature morons shout in their postings. Well. My condolences. IP: Logged |

Wow, so much hatred and animosity. Can't we all just live together in peace and admire the psychodelic colours? (Paz turns, and looks from Lytha to the cheaters and back again) Guess not. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Heh, maybe we need yet ANOTHER Thief forum: Thief Cheating. I for one find the cheating threads humorous, but would not miss them if they were gone. It's not that I don't think ppl should cheat, it's that I don't like the kind of ppl who DO cheat. However, there are exceptions, several nice ppl quietly emailed me concerning cheats and I graciously returned whatever info I had (which isn't much btw). I am also disapointed that the 'senior' members aren't a bit nicer. IP: Logged |

To Gracius/Black Night why don't you stroll over to: http://www.eidosgames.com There's a Thief forum there that is more friendly to your approach. Bye!

This whole forum damn stinks.. I say.. Cheaters stink.. I can't see of a way to enjoy the game by cheating.. I cheated once on games because they were too hard.. Now I don't.. Why? Since it is no fun playing through a game in five minutes in god mode that some of you want so badly.. And I think forum went downhill ever since I noticed new people coming and asking for cheats.. Ever heard of things called search engines? You would be way better off using them than this forum.. Especially with people like us.. So go off to the forum on the eidos homepage... IP: Logged |

Alright everyone. I think it's time we all calm down a little bit!!! What about it? Lytha (and anyone who gets upset because of cheaters): Gracius Night: I know cheats can be fun (anyone played Ultima 7? The Black Knight: I don't really know what I think about you. I can understand if you are
mad at people insulting you because you want to cheat but on the other
hand your really stupid questions on the TEG forum make you look like a
troll. Btw turning off caps lock might give people a better impression of you. I am sure ...

Hey Ymochel, I remember the U7 cheat! I lost my instruction manual so I had to use it to get out of Trinsic. Although the temptation was great, I never touched that big stack of magical armor and lightning whips and so forth. And I'm glad I didn't. U7 ranks as one of my favorite games because of all the little things you can do... bake bread, forge swords, explore all of the little islands... I'm feeling nostalgic. IP: Logged |
| Ymochel Member |
Oh yeah nostalgia
...
Of course if you want to actually play U7 again you shouldn't use the cheat. But it was so much fun using the "hackmover" and building your own houses with your own NPCs patrolling (or dancing or whatever) in it. Oh well ... IP: Logged |

And yes I have killed gaurds with one shot before. But it is still rediculous at takeing 5-8 arrows in the face to kill some one. Look at the battle of Agincourt and Crecy both times the english were hevily out numbered and used what archers they had to destroy the french army. ------------------ IP: Logged |
| Sparrow Member |
Yes, the longbow did give the English an advantage at Agincourt, but that is not the whole story. That battle was fought on rain softened mud and the French heavy cavalry was as good as shooting targets. And now for some additional historical gesturing I think this whole thread needs, concerning the Battle of Agincourt (received this from a friend). According to research, here's the true story of: Giving the Finger... Before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, the French, anticipating victory over the English, proposed to cut off the middle finger of all captured English soldiers. Without the middle finger it would be impossible to draw the renowned English longbow and therefore be incapable of fighting in the future. This famous weapon was made of the native English Yew tree, and the act of drawing the longbow was known as "plucking the yew" (or "pluck yew"). Much to the bewilderment of the French, the English won a major upset and began mocking the French by waving their middle fingers at the defeated French, saying, "See, we can still pluck yew! PLUCK YEW!" Over the years some 'folk etymologies' have grown up around this symbolic gesture. Since 'pluck yew' is rather difficult to say (like "pleasant mother pheasant plucker", which is who you had to go to for the feathers used on the arrows for the longbow), the difficult consonant cluster at the beginning has gradually changed to a labiodental fricative 'F', and thus the words often used in conjunction with the one-finger-salute are mistakenly thought to have something to do with an intimate encounter. It is also because of the pheasant feathers on the arrows that the
symbolic gesture is known as "giving the bird." And yew all thought yew
knew everything! [This message has been edited by Sparrow (edited June 14, 1999).] IP: Logged |

Can any one say TANGET AHOY. (as a tanget side note, a) the archers at Agincourt didn't bother aiming their arrows, they fired them into the air, so they rained down on the Froggies, b) Agincourt was REAL LIFE wheras Thief is A GAME) Now someone please fix Lytha a nice cup of 'shroom tea before she explodes. (I've only just got the place cleaned up from when Shades brought all those monsters in (who didn't wipe their feet I should add) and set the place on fire!! - I don't want to have to spend the next few days scraping bits of Lytha off the ceiling) IP: Logged |

Yup. The first appearance in print was in code, in a poem called Fen flyys. The poem was written in mockery of the friars of Cambridge. There was a line: "Non sunt in coeli, quia" means "They are not "gxddbov xxkxzt..", the coded bit, is easily broken, by substituting each letter with the one that precedes it in the alphabet. Their alphabet was slightly different, so the coded bit is: "fvccant vvivys of heli." "Fvccant" is a faux Latin form of the obscenity. Heli = Ely, a town near Cambridge. The whole thing translates as, "They are not in heaven, since they f*** wives of Eli." IP: Logged |

I figured out how to HACK into the game! get a large pick axe and your game cd nuff said

Elaborating on what Sparrow has said, the corresponding gesture in France is to hold the two fingers next to the middle upright... perhaps to symbolize the loss of the middle. Very interesting. IP: Logged |

First Epos-Nix, thank you of bringing up my treatise about the Battle of Agincourt, I am very grateful for that. Now, about elitism that stinks to high heaven. Your nose there so
high-up? I admit that there are sometimes very heated words said about people who cheat when playing Thief. Now, lets assume us being a NY Yankee fans (I know this is very hard for you). We are watching a ballgame at Yankee Stadium in The Bronx (always The Bronx). The pitcher for Boston is throwing obvious spitball. What would you yell? Or if the baseball is not familiar to you how about this: A soccer forward for Bristol kicks the goalie of Liverpool in the groin while passing by? Or NY Jets linebacker clips Dan Marino? That what’s the cheating with Thief is for us. Go and get a better example, if you please. PS. Lytha also used ‘idiots’ in her posts. IP: Logged |

Only two things: 1. Do you really think you are going to be kicked out? I don’t. (See my
previuos post here) Anyway, in a remote case that it might happen I will
make certain that DN will smell the rotten fish [ 2. I really hope that the following is not your signature ------------------

8 arrows? Shooting them in the face 5 times? Do you know that you aren't supposed to pretend that Garrett is Duke Nukem? ------ If you want god mode and unlimited arrows and unlimited money, get the +2(or +3 or +4) trainer off the Net somewhere. Just do a search for 'Thief trainer.' You'll find it. BTW: Cheating sucks. I just collect trainers and cheats for after I complete a game and decide to have fun. Or if your HD crashes and you want to rush through the first few levels to get back to where you were. I didn't do this, however. Cheating sucks, but, as mentioned above, I think that another forum for cheating is a good idea. That will keep them separate from us (thinking of persons like Lytha). I could easily put on god mode and explore the Bonehoard, but I'm not and I haven't. I would have finished the game already if I did. That would be a waste of time, since anyone who cheats to complete a game didn't really work for it. One place where my philosophy falls apart is that I tend to use the built-in cheats for games like Carmageddon and Doom. If they are built in, then I feel it is sortof alright. I still don't use them all the time. Also, since I use Thief 1.14, not 1.33, I don't think there are any built-in cheats. So therefore, I do not feel it necessary to cheat in Thief. I personally find the game challenging, but I still don't cheat.
