Is everyone on here British or something like that? It's just
that I see "Taffer" used a lot, doesn't sound American....

We are (taffers I mean...not Brits...not mostly, anyways...though I
hear that there's a Canadian running around somewhere on the
forum...and Cadfael's name looks Welsh). Just play the game a little
while, and you'll figure it out...

Well if he's good and never tips off a guard to his presence he may
NEVER hear it.

Well, I'm a Brit (tally ho! Pip pip! etc etc....), and I can say for
SURE that 'taffer' is a word that doesn't come from our dialect
(though I can't speak for the Welsh and the Scots). Anyway, What
ho! Ta ta!

Seeing as we mostly seem to be British, here's another one everyone
else won't get: "See that Taffer? That's you that is."

scroll WAY down to about 2 weeks ago..there was a huge thread about
the official and unofficial meaning of "taffer" but here is the
basics. Laura Baldwin made it up! but as it turns out its sort of an
insult or something to do with welsh people, ask DN for specifics
since he was one of the people who dug up the info.

I'm a Canadian.
(No, I don't live in an igloo. You don't wanna know how many
Americans have asked me that.)
And Cadfeal sounds like a Newfie (That is a person that lives
in Newfoundland, a province of Canada. They're sorta like Texans are
to most Americans)

freezer.

No they're not...at least not from any of the Newfie jokes that I've
head. It's more like West Virginia or Kintucky (spelt that way cuz
everybody there is...)

Hrm, Canadians catching flack about living in igloos? Try living in
Alaska, bub... we hunt polar bears, too, and all wear fur parkas
Etc etc... Anywho, in case you haven't figured it out yet,
"taffer" seems to mean "thief" or "Sneaky dark guy who's making loud
noises with tapshoes"... take yer pick.

I just moved to Indiana from Ottawa, Ontario, and the amount of
stupid questions some people have asked me... amazing. I was
asked if there is internet in Canada, if there is Halloween, do
Canadians bury their food underground to keep it refrigerated, is
there year-round work shoveling snow, was I a lumberjack before I
came here, etc... Then again, before i moved here (_South_ Bend,
Indiana), I pictured myself waking up at 6 a.m. because the closest
neighbour (1/2 a kilometer away) had to put an old cow by the name
of Bessie out of its misery...

Koobze: what color are you? I was under the impression all canucks
were purple, can you clarify?
And did you change colors when you came to the U.S.?
