Topic: Can anyone actually verify that there
is $2705 loot in Assassins? |
AdTropis Member |
posted February 09, 1999 02:01 PM
I swear I have been through ever inch of that level (except in the
town, but that thing is just HUGE!) and I can't seem to find the
last $100... I've even made it up on the roof (which was pretty
interesting), but no luck.
Has anyone here actually gotten all the loot on expert?
Thanks.

Ad, do you really think they would spend all the time and money to
build a game and make the objectives impossible?
There's gotta be 100 more somewhere, look on the mantle pieces in
the rooms next to Ramirez's or maybe the gem in the fireplace or the
chest upstairs in the library?

I swear to you, I have looked everywhere! I have even used rope
arrows in most rooms to look on top of paintings, doorways, and the
like... I'm sure their Q&A dept. is great, but I still can't
find that last $100!
I would just like for someone to say "Yes, I have found all of
it". Then I could know that it is all there.
I don't know... maybe I ought to start searching the town. I
tried going back to the shop thinking that a shop keeper might have
some cash laying around, but no such luck.
Oh well...

See my post , I can not find that last 100 loot either I tried
everything. i can only get 2605 out of 2705. I tried to pickpocket
even the people while tracking the Assassins, looked in water etc.
It must all be in mansion, the way objectives work; it must be a
bug.

I've done it, in fact i do it every time I play that level (I'm on
the nineth time through, yes I have no life). I also kill all the
guards, even the ones in the street at the end.

I looked around for about 20 minutes outside the mansion and found
nothing more useful than crates (which can be interesting in and of
themselves...). AFAIK, there's no loot 'cept that in Ramirez's place
(which works well w/ the objectives - take the $$ from him...).

Well...either 1 of 2 things has happened. LGS made a error with the
total loot or we're blind =] OR maybe i found something that you
didn't and i missed a piece that you got cos 2605 is all i found too
and i looked hard! No guards had pouches, i checked all the mantle
pieces, i even used rope arrows to check the little ledges around
some of the rooms and even on top of the beams in the kitchen. I
even took a swim around town and still nothing. Can EvilSpirit
or Laura verify there's really 2705? hehe thats on Assassins

a locked room that would qualify as a storage room...anyone got an
idea on that one?

Is there anything at FARkasis that qualifies as loot?Just a guess I

I have found the storage room. It is on the first floor. It is only
a big room with nothing in it. No torches, no chests, no nothing...
In fact, on my game, when I opened the door it appeared in the
guard's room that has 2 fancy blue chests and a desk with a readable
sign above it.
Personally, I am beginning to think that there is a glitch. I
mean, in a game like this, the Q&A is up to a tough challenge
and things such as this can slip by. I just wish we could get an
official ruling on it.

Ask and ye shall receive. The "DromEd" editor's mission report
generator comes up with the following list of loot:
6 A FineWine vals { 0; 0; 50; [None]} 2 A GemRing vals { 100;
0; 0; [None]} 1 A Gemstone vals { 0; 100; 0; [None]} 6 A
GoldCStick vals { 50; 0; 0; [None]} 10 A GoldCoinStack vals { 25;
0; 0; [None]} 5 A GoldGoblet vals { 25; 0; 0; [None]} 2 A
GoldPlate vals { 50; 0; 0; [None]} 1 A Necklace vals { 100; 100;
0; [None]} 1 A Purse vals { 100; 0; 0; [None]} 1 A
RamirezSignet vals { 100; 0; 0; [None]} 1 A Tiara vals { 75; 50;
0; [None]} 7 A TrGobPurp vals { 0; 0; 15; [None]} 1 A
TrVaseGold vals { 100; 0; 0; [None]} 1 A TrVaseGreen vals { 0; 0;
50; [None]} 1 A TrVaseIndigo vals { 0; 0; 100; [None]} 1
RamirezPurse vals { 250; 0; 0; Special 2} 1 SilverPoker vals {
100; 0; 100; Special 1}
You can generally make a pretty good guess as to the object
described from its symbolic name, e.g. "A TrVaseGreen" is a green
vase. The full report actually includes x,y,z coordinates for each
item, but this seemed like enough to figure out what you were
missing.
I note that it's likely that you're missing a single item valued
at 100, of which there are only a few examples. Those would be: a
gold vase, an indigo vase, Ramirez' signet ring, a purse, a
gemstone, and two gem-studded rings. Also, from the totals (1800
gold, 250 gems, 655 goods) you can at least tell whether you're
short of gold, gems, or goods.

gold, had to move on anyway...cuz I couldn't find it even after all

list?? muaahahah for the whole game i mean...there is a treasure

EvilSpirit, if you're willing to post the complete list (with full
map coordinates), I'd like to use that data to create graphical
treasture maps for all of the missions. I've been wanting to make
these maps for some time, but without the treasure data, it's too
tedious (as well as inaccurate) to replay the entire game and write
everything down by hand.

I missed the RamirezSignet. I got a ring in the bib, another in the
guest room near Ramirez bedroom, and I remember that there is
another ring in the bathroom in normal difficulty, but not in expert
mode.
*Where is it?*
Oh dear, I played the Ramirez-map once again... The 6th time
in expert mode... Only to find out what I missed... oh dear, I
should drop into bed and have those pretty nightmares again - this
time about the Ramirez-map in my best time so far...

heehee... oh, the interesting plays on words. time will tell... and
perhaps some nice Hammerite-style prayer. but the output from DromEd
seems fairly clean and borderline intuitive, AFAICT.
I think I found a use for the storage room key... I found it on
each of 2 guards who normally stand in the room at the base of the
secret that leads to the library (it has a wood floor, 2 chests, and
a note on the wall about breaking fingers). If you leave that room
and go into the hall (not the stairs), then make an immediate right,
the door you're facing should be openable by the storage key. I've
used it, and I've seen the guard use it, so it seems reliable...

About the 3 rings (2 Jeweled, and 1 Signet.) I've found 2 rings (I
think they are the Jeweled ones.) 1 ring I found was on a table next
to a note about the Burricks, near the Master Bedroom. The other
ring was in a Box in the library. I searche HIGH and LOW in the
Bathroom - No ring. I'm also having trouble figuring out what a bib
is?!?! (In relation to the game that is.)

Well, I've played on all 3 skill levels and I can't find the Signet
ANYWHERE! My thoughts were that it should be next a piece of
parchment as signet rings were commonly used to stamp wax onto
parchment, thereby sealing it with the master's official 101 proof
royal seal.
But, the only place I have seem something like that is in the
room next to Ramirez's where there is a GemStone Ring on the
table... not the Signet.
I was thinking that it was down with Ramirez, but the only things
I found down there were:
1 x Speed Potion, 1 x Flash Bomb, 3 x Gold Coin Stacks, 1 x
Parchment, 1 x Water Arrow, 1 x Moss Arrow
No RING! Maybe the Burricks ate it?

redEye: Yes, I mean this key-thing. ;-) The guards room is much
easier, if you go there before the guys in the garden and in the
storage room started their conversation. They go into the guards
after finishing their babbling.
AdTropis: I remember that there was a ring in the bathroom when I
played the map in normal or hard mode. A little golden thing, as far
as I remember. But I havent played this map in those difficulties
far too long, so I wouldnt swear on it.

Are we absolutely sure that the signet is a ring? They sometimes

I used the data fron EvilSpirit from the game output and I checked
off every item and verified amounts as I went. It is absolutely 100
of gold and has to be the Rameriz signet ring. there are only TWO
rings in the game. the thing in bathroom is the Tiara (hand braclet)
75 gold, 50 gems and is NOT the Signet. The purse of 100 gold must
be the blue box by silver poker. This is a bug. the one gemstone
ring is on table by parchment, the other is in wooden box in
libarary. Sorry I am such a perfectionist on this but I been over
this at leat 20 times every way. No one could have seen the Signet
ring or it is hidden better than I can imagine prove it too me that
some one found it by saying where it is at. I am writing down
everything I find and where and difficulty. It is not the Tiara
braclet in bathroom, verify it by amounts. I give up... 1700 gold ,
250 gem, 655 goods. total is 2605. I agree with the others on
this. If the designers can show me different I will be absolutely
feel stupid. thanks
for any help.

I'm starting to agree that it was a bug. I could have sworn that I
had found everything in this mission before though . With the difficulty I'm
having now, I'm starting to doubt my memory a bit. I wish EvilSpirit
would either relieve our anxious minds and tell us where it is, or
at least give us a hint. Failing that, maybe he could make those
x,y,z coordinates available and we can wory about deciphering them.

It's gotta be VERY well hidden, i have been on the level for over 3
hours, like AdTropis marking down everything i found, altho i'm sure
what we're missing is one of these
2 A GemRing vals { 100; 0; 0; [None]}
not the signet ring,
that was the one on the table near the parchment (it was all gold,
no gems) the other one of these is in the library as stated =] I
even mapped out the entire level to make sure i'd been in every room
(and i'm making maps for a treasure guide anyway) and if there is
another ring, it's near impossible to see (maybe like the key in
"the sword") I'm sure when someone finds it we'll all slap our
foreheads and say OH! i knew that!
1000 in loot to anyone who finds that ring! (and a free "we love
Ghost" t-shirt, offer not valid if EvilSpirit posts where it is
first =P)

Ghost, the ring in the guest room (near the writing about
renovations in the house) had a gem. I inspected it a long time,
looked at it when it turned, compared it to the other ring I found
in the library). That was not the signet.
Could it be possible that Ramirez had it on his finger? And that
we must steal it from his hand?
I found the game mostly very logical, maybe we can find the
signet by thinking? Where would we store our signet, if we had any?
At papers, because we would want to do our signets on it, I guess. I
dont think that Ramirez gave the signet to any other person, not
even to one of his girl friends ( = we must probably not look in the
servants or guards room). I would think that Ramirez would keep his
signet in his bedroom, bathroom, writing room, at himself, in his
own storage room.
Maybe it is on or under the table in the library, because I found
the interesting notes (a letter from Bafford, e.g.) there?
|
EvilSpirit Member |
posted February 12, 1999 10:48 AM
Hmmm. Okay, if we've got it narrowed down to the signet, I'll go
check where the darn thing is supposed to be...
Aha. No wonder. It's sitting on the floor, and therefore appears
as a little speck unless you're crawling in the right place. A shiny
little speck, sure, but still... you'd never know it was a signet
ring. But it doesn't match the descriptions of the other two rings
locations you've mentioned, so it must be the one you're missing.
Okay, look in the bedroom in the Northwest corner of the mansion.
On the floor, in front of the locked chest to the right of the
bed.

Well, hot damn! It sure blends in nicely with the carpet there!
Of course, it makes sense that it is there with all those bottles
of fine wine lying about... He probably got totally wasted one night
and just passed out in bed, not knowing that his signet fell off his
hand and onto the floor. No wonder it wasn't put up anywhere, he
couldn't find it either!
Glad to have this one solved... Thank-you very much EvilSpirit.
