Hi there! Thanks for downloading and trying this out. This demo is for Thief 2 only and runs from Dromed 2 (patched version). The files allow you to utilise Craymen and Bugbeasts in your missions. ============================================================================================ Rationale --------- I hope that this file will become like a chain letter: I believe that from this gamesys, we can actually add additional creatures to extend the pool of selectable T1 critters for D2. Take this gamesys and try to add to it. Pass it along and encourage others to do the same. Hopefully, in the end, we'll end up with the entire T1 creatures imported into D2 all in one gamesys, rather than seperate gamesys for every creature. I think it will be more efficient this way...let's keep the Thief universe immortal and dynamic by constantly experimenting, implementing and sharing :) ============================================================================================ Contents -------- You should have the following files: Mesh folder, Snd folder, schema folder, CrayBug.mis, Hunter.gam and FrobMeFirst.txt (which you are reading now). ============================================================================================ Installation Process: --------------------- Just dump the above-mentioned folders and files (except FrobMeFirst.txt which is optional) into your Thief 2 directory. ============================================================================================ Playing and Testing ------------------- Launch Dromed 2 and click: File=>Open=>CrayBug.mis (double-click CrayBug.mis) Hit ALT+G to go into game mode. That's it Note that you have 10 broadheads, 2 H2O arrows, 1 Blackjack, 1 Sword and a mine. ============================================================================================ Important Notes --------------- Since this is only a demo, level construction is extremely crude. I consider this a test area rather than a level, actually. The point is to let you judge the functionality of the critters so that you can decide if you wanna use them yourself or not. The Playerfactory does not have the VictoryCheck script so that you can experience the effects without getting killed (for eg, you might wanna test out the damage effects of the Bugbeast projectile using Garrett as a guinea pig). Remember that the Bugbeast in this demo fires MagicMissiles and not Bugshots! If You like to, you can always change the projectile to something else you fancy :D For Dromedites, the speech=>voice for the crayman and bugbeast is vcray and vbug respectively. If You would like to use this gamesys, please give credit to Spitter as well. Without his crayman demo, the craymen in this demo might not have been possible. ============================================================================================ Credits ------- Spitter for his Craymen :) and for allowing me to use and modify his gamesys. Dark Angel for solving the crash when adding BugBeasts into D2 (that CreatureType thingy). All the Taffers at The Editors' Guild. Lastly, I would like to thank myself for having the patience and not giving up when things seemed hopeless. Enjoy! HunterByNite checkpoint_alpha@yahoo.com April 12, 2001
