Assassinations: By The Raven. many of you alls probably know how this is done, but hell, im writing this anyway! first, make 3 rooms... one of them 16 x 16 x 16, the second one 8 x 16 x 8, and the last one 16 x 16 x 16. load convict, build room databases, StartingPoint, etc. Your room layout should look like 2 large rooms with one wide-ass doorway like room connecting them. now, to do this you will need a bounds trigger, a flicker trigger, an Emitter Trap, and a victim. for the victim i used a hammerite. create him, and what youll need to do is click on him, click properties, then add > metaproperties > ai behaviors > ai_b_m5 > CannonFodder. when you do that, click ok. Now, create the Emitter Trap anywhere as long as its lined up with the hammerite, so when activated, the projectile will nail 'em. ( located in the object heirchy under fnord > TrapTrig > Emitter Trap. Next, click on it, goto properties, add > scripts, and in script 0 type in "Assassination" without the quotes. Now, in the level Assassins, these objects were named. The victim was named Farkus, and the emitter trap was FarkusKiller. I named the hammerite Farkus and the emitter trap FarkusKiller. Now for the Bounds and Flicker traps... create the bounds trigger ( fnord > TrapTrig > Bounds Trigger ) in the room adjoining the two. make it the same size (8 x 16 x 8) to make sure you dont miss it. now just create the flicker trigger ( fnord > TrapTrig > Flicker Trigger ) close to the emitter trap. link the bounds and flicker trigger to the emitter trap using the "ControlDevice" flavor, and link the emitter trap to the victim using the "ControlDevice" flavor as well. Now just do any other necissary steps (portalize, relight, compute pathfinding database, etc.) and when you approach the hammerite, you should see an arrow shoot out and nail the sucker, killing him. If I confused you at all (in which i probably did) i included an example of my guide here, created word for word. By the way, if you want to use multiple assassinations, just link the emitter traps back to the flicker & bounds trigger, you only need those to triggers to work. I successfuly triggered 4 assassinations once... it was pretty wild. anyway, thats how its done. you can just reffer to the example level whenever you get stuck. later. The Raven.
