Thread: New SS2-campaign from Christine: PONTERBEE STATION

    New hurdle ...

    spoiler:
I found the Core code 2 and entered them, and then redicrected core control, thats done now.

However, I think that was supposed to open up the hangar area, which I have now swept through, besides a few datalogs about the slime there was nothing there.

Now there is no hint in the Notes section as to what i'm supposed to be doing ... another little shove would be appreciated.

You are now supposed to go back and go through "Shuttle" doors.

    spoiler:
If you don't have the code for the shuttle bay, it is in one of the corpses that was in the pit area (in pod 4) with the eggs.

Make sure you have plenty of armor piercing ammo for the shuttle bay.

I just finished the FM, and I must say, FREAKIN' WOW! Lots of time went into detail in this one, which made me enjoy the visuals a bit more that default game. Took me 4 days to beat this (I work 2 jobs, give me a break!), and I loved every minute of it.

Here are my impressions while I played:

Voice actors could use some help, but I realize that these are just people helping where they can, and using what they have, which is probably some low end computer mics. Very much understandable. Maybe you can clean up some of the voice sound a bit with some processing software.

The attention to detail is amazing. Cigarettes laying around everywhere. DONUTS!!! OMG! DONUTS!!! (laughed really hard with this). Making the worker helmets, guitars, etc. All the little extras really made the game feel like people actually lived there. Awsome work there. Oh, and the Rubber ducks were also very cool. I was really focusing really hard when I came across that room, and I laughed so hard...

I honestly didn't find the saurians all that hard. On normal, 3 anti-personel rounds would take them down. I don't think I ever really got close to one that one ever did any damage to me. I did like the addition of the new race of creatures, along with the floating "bot". What was upsetting was that I couldn't scavange from their bodies. Oh, well.

I sure hope this won't be your last SS2 FM. From what I seen so far, you do amazing work, and would love to see another FM.

Hey, if you guys ever need any more help with audio, let me know. I have about $600 worth of audio gear hooked up to my computer, and I am buying some more next month. Currently what I have: Mackie 1202 Sound Console, Sure SM57 Mic, and Nuendo. I think I still have Cool Audio laying around here as well.

Dude, do you seriously think a lizard monster would be carrying nanites or hypos?

It appears that your cutscenes don't want to play--check the FAQ stickied at the top of the forum for a suggested fix.

Just started this great level and I'm running around in Medical and Cryo accomplishing nothing. What am I missing here?

Well, monkeys carry chips and nanites.... Why not a creature that is 3 times bigger?

And the monkeys in SS2 are no ordinary animals.

So they are. If not, how could they blast a marvellous blue ball of the purest psi-made frost while carrying full bottles of excellent nanite-made vodka ? Or crackalicious chips ?

These are no ordinary monkeys. These are the most beautiful form of biologically-augmented mammals. These are god-like creatures.

    Monkeys.

...and they even could send you an e-mail

I was allways wondering about the monkeys, why don't they have white rats for the labratories

Thief has rat models. Would be easy enough to import them into SS2 and set them up in little glass cages!

    (hint-hint)

You're right, the Thief rats are easy to import to SS2. I'm already using the rats in SS2, in my Bloody-Ruins-Conversion.

    spoiler:
they are hard to kill with a pistol or shotgun, easiest way is to use the grenade launcher

Woohooo finished, great job all over, reminds me of the original quest minus the painful body of the many.
Got some hangs when saving but the saved data was intact, so I just finished the program with the task manager and start again from the last savegame.

Christine, do you consider Ponterbee Station as finished or will you go back to polish the levels again if enough people here make suggestions?
