    Yes

Yes. The best word ever. Yes. Something positive in a ever increasingly dark world. Yes. The sexiest word of all time. Yes. The word that makes all things good occur. Yes. May you all have peace. That’s all.

Molly Bloom seemed to like this word, a lot.

    Spot on, Chris.

One of my favorite bass lines... Roundabout. Saw them in the mid 80s. Loudest concert by far that I ever attended. "Justice to the left of me, justice to the right.”

While “NO” is an alternative, it can lead to negativity. That’s why it’s no. Yes is positive but can lead to no. No can lead to yes. Yin yang. OK, enough.

As long as you think this thread sucks and say yes it sucks, then my work is done. Yes. Come on? Really? You dislike the word yes? Ok, I will admit it is not a cool word when it comes to, “how about we kill all the animals at the zoo?” “HELL NO!" would be an appropriate answer. Duh.

It’s just that the positive vide of yes is so much more pleasant than being in the negative no world. Being in the zone of no is exhausting. It is necessary, but not always required. Consider yes as an answer. Saying no rarely gets one laid. However yes can result in aids. It is not always so positive, unless you are speaking of the test.

Etymologically, the word 'yes' derives from Old English ġēse, which means 'so be it'. If you break that down, the prefix gea means 'yes' by itself, or 'so'; and sī means 'be'.

Essentially, the word is an imperative to exist, which is why most of your moms and dads made you, and is why you're someone, the person reading this right now.

It is also ironic that some of the times I've said 'yes' have nearly led to my not being, as in the time I and a friend nearly rode a bike off a cliff because my answer to the ill-begotten idea of 'should we do a ten hour road trip tonight to a beach town even though we're tired and sleepy and visibility means we can't see more than three feet in front of us?' was 'nnnnyeah'.

I've always found yes to be fun or at the very least interesting. I've lived my life by it. Might it kill me? Yes. Might I live and have a story to tell? Yes. It may not be wise but is it more fun than no? Yes. Then shall we do it? Yes. Will we one day die anyway with possibly no story to tell otherwise?

    You know the answer.

I have to say no to that one. I lost some friends to AIDS in the 80s. It was not a “yes" thing. Poor guys did not know what was happening to them. Fortunately for me, I was not in that scene. Not my bag. But, some really cool people died in terrible ways. I hope to God that yes was given to them in heaven. This is not bullshit people. These guys died. They died in pain and a lot of suffering. Dallas Buyer Club? Not even close. Cool people you would have a beer with once a month at a bar would just be dead the next month. They went that quickly sometimes.

I have been an ass on this site, I admit. I am sorry about that. Reasons I do not want to go into. Be kind to each other please? Life is too short to be angry. Yes. Love is yes. OK, enough of me. I am blocked by many here and so be it. Please, be positive and loving. It is so much more relaxing and peaceful than being hateful and uptight.

What about the people to whom being hateful and uptight is the only thing that makes sense? When for them saying yes means you're asking to be ground out beneath someone's heel like a discarded cigarette butt? What about when you need to say yes to negate a stance, say no to affirm another, and say maybe to lay the seeds of doubt in the existence of one to begin with?

Also, why have I not had enough coffee yet.

I say yes, cuz it really grinds my beans that I've got to grind the beans; if I could just snap my fingers and have a mug magically appear in my hand full of delectable robusta and arabica blends, I'd probably be dreaming and/or in a tragic PKD novel.
