Easily found on youtube. But for some reason it's always flipped, I wonder if it's some blunder with the international DVD release.

Today is the Tesla's birth anniversary

This brilliant scientist gave alot to the human world, his inventions are still modern. Quite incredible!

The references with the Mechanists are undeniable.

Are you sure? They are working in a mine, yet, amd with machines... Plus all that sparks... It reminds to me the cutscenes when the Karras's scritpures and sermons appear.

Nice! I'll certainly notice when I see it. I watched that series before I played Thief, and it's also a nice connection, even if unintended.

It looks definitely like a computer generated image for me.
Look carefully, the wall texture is repeating, the edges is unnaturally sharp, the lighting is unnatural, you can see visible seams across some surfaces etc.

It do use a technique called High Dynamic Range rendering, but that's not the same as HDR photography.

A British trench mace/maul from WWI. As you can see, it has a gear-like head...

    Of course.

It's pretty symbolic that simple melee weapons like these were still used in the first world war - the era was really a mix of traditional and modern military equipment. A club like this was ideal for beating the living daylights out of an unfortunate trench garrison. It was even more practical than bayonets, which were used more for psychological effect than anything else... I read that some soldiers even put their field shovels to great use during trench raids - they just sharpened them and bludgeoned the poor adversaries.
