T2 FM: Relics by Paul D Rotter (eepcat) 2006-09-11

Just found a new Thief 2 Mission called Relics from eepcat (Paul D Rotter) over at Jasons Site.

    http://www.thiefmissions.com/info.cgi?m=Relics

There is also a smaller version without intromovie available.

    Thanks, Paul

Thank you for the mission, but I really do not understand why you don't have a sword.

You know way ahead of time you might be in for some trouble and you decide to leave it at home?

EDIT: Okay, so it turns out you find one pretty soon Still confused as to why you don't come prepared but anyway, I feel more complete now

    Nice little mission!

When I picked up two corpses the game crashed on me. Are you aware of this bug?

I had the same problem with the first corpse that I came across that I didn't kill. It was some woman's body that was in a large room with a barred gate. I picked her up and then couldn't put her back down. I also noticed that there was no corpse picture at the bottom where it normally appears when you pick one up. It only said that I had one in my possession. As soon as I tried to reload my last saved position the game crashed to the desktop. I guess I won't be picking up any more dead bodies in this one.

Just so no one gets confused, this is a different FM than Relic - Left for Dead by Schwaa.

Ok, after you get down in the basement... what next? The door closes behind you and there are two rooms in the hallway ahead. How do you get out?

Anyone ever figures out the floating block puzzle, please let me know. Is there a clue for it anywhere?

    spoiler:
Well, got through it anyway. Just kept stepping on the four of five blocks that activated the platforms till they were all four there.

As for the sword hilt quest:

    spoiler:
Was I supposed to be able to just duck under the fire arrows? Didn't know if that was the intent, or if I was supposed to have found a different way.

At any rate, I nice little quickie here - thanks.

    Have you not noticed the
    spoiler:
    barred door
in one of the two rooms? If you cannot
    spoiler:
get it open, maybe you need to find something to bash it open with
? Keep looking, everything you need is right there!

Nice little mission, not much more than 30 minutes.
Had the same bug picking up corpses.
When I saw I was short 50 on loot I thought: I will never find the rest, but it was quite easy!
For those of you who did not find all the loot:
    spoiler:
    rope up in the church!

I've noticed that all the torch holders highlight, but won't frob. I have also hit the highlighting-zombie-pick-it-up crash, and am taking a break for the night. will continue tomorrow

Playing it for the first time tonight. Same thing here. haven't messed with the zombie. If they are laying down I avoid them.
But, what about the frobable torches? Are we suppose to light them?

Sounds like eep used the DEDx gamesys, which has that bug. You don't need to do anything to the torches.

    Thanks Yandros.
I do need a nudge though. Used up 3 water arrows to get by the first section and found 4 water arrows. Been up the elevator and to the other room.
Can't figure out what to do next though. Those 3 in the center room aren't giving me any breaks.

Finally finished on Expert. Probably the toughest and shortest FM I ever played.

    Mission End

How does this mission end ? I managed to get back to the beginning, but nothing happened.

Don't think there's anything in the end. Only the briefing played for me. Then again, I have done a reinstall... but still. Found only the intro movie in those FM files.

There are two places you may have overlooked:
    1. Check the center beam in the church.
    2. When you first enter the basement, turn right and youll see a room with
covered furniture, 2 swords on the floor, and some sewer spiders. Look South.

These aren't my words....I copied them from a walkthrough pdf.
    Hope it helps
