@ DarkMax: Great job! I particularly love the second screenshot - it reminds me the view through metal bars in old famous "Another World".

@ Soul Tear: Gloomy ;-) and very attractive!

    Return to the Lost City

Here are some first screenshots of a mission I've been working on since April last year. The mission will be called "Return to the Lost City" and that pretty much sums up what it's going to be like. Garrett is contacted by the Keepers to search for one of their lost expeditions which was sent into an completely unexplored section of Karath-Din decades ago. This section was sealed again by the Keepers after no signs of their exploration party were found again. Now, Garrett is the first one who is going to enter that part of the sunken city, many years after the Keeper expedition has vanished.
The mission is going to portray the Lost City as we have seen it in TDP. It will be populated by Burricks, Craymen, spiders, Fire Elementals, Air Elementals, etc. However, the mission will not contain any of the mages as I personally don't like them.

Damn! I gotta check this thread out more often - so much great stuff to look forward to......just on this page alone

(BTW, I wonder how many who normally hang around the Thief FMs sub-forum even know about this thread? The TDM edition is over there.)

Thanks! I love the Lost City mission in TDP and always wanted to build my own to continue the story of exploring Karath-Din.
My plan is to capture the atmosphere and setting of the original Lost City mission while providing a whole new and large map for exploring.

Wow Steffen, you've captured the mood and charm of the Lost City perfectly Great work! Looking forward to the release.

I recall The Watcher also had a Lost City mission planned years ago, called "The The Legacy of Va-Toran". Hopefully that one will be released too someday.

Not really. I guess you mean "Königsforst" (or "Koenigsforst").

Looks good. Can you provide us with a screenshot from the original version for comparison?

Sure, but it may be a few days before I can as I'm about to leave on a short vacation.

Agreed, I really like those iron doors!

After stupid RL unfortunately hijacking all my important Dromeding time. . .

I started working on some wind FX, so far so good but it's still a little resource intensive:

I've been working on an early Hammerite Temple concept. The idea is that these Proto-Hammerites built their places of worship deep underground, to avoid persecution and to hone their skill as master stonesmiths. Access to the Temple is achieved by scaling The Prophet's Finger, a test of faith for newbie Hammers. Anyhoo, here are some screenshots, early days and all that.

    The Prophet's Finger.

    A Ruined bridge.

    The Temple. Dark.

    Temple lit.

    Temple again.

I'm not completely sold on the idea of indoor fog, although I do like the way it gives depth to unlit areas. Still feel as though I've betrayed the "Thief" look with it.
