What a nice feeling, playing something that you're not familiar with
Just a small mission, nothing like the scale of Flux's latest offering, and the better part of a month later than I hoped. This was going to be my entry to Komag's 7th Competition, before it got cancelled. I "finished" the art at the time, and put the mission to pasture (well, in my backup collection): needing a break to clear my head a bit for the great work ahead, I came back to it, made a lot of changes and gave it a bit of story and some npcs and objectives and so on...
The Premise is simple: Garrett's breaking into a City Watch Officer's Club to get some stuff with which to scupper their plans, meaning he can't be caught or make it look like a robbery.
Ergo, quick, simple little mission with my usual overkill approach to the art (and my equally usual "okay, now I need a story and some gameplay...." aproach to everything else)
There's also Russian translations by Tiens, with what she tells me is an appropriate readme in the FanMissionExtras folder for making that work, and there's also a German translation by Beleg Cuthalion. If you want French, Italian or Polish though, you're going to have to work it out for yourselves.

ok i need some help,for some reason i cant see objective on thief 3 fms,not sure why,but this is what i have done so farspoiler:i first take it this is a ghost mission since i got not weapons or inventory,i went to some office from some stairs and fromed a piee of paper and one of the 4 objectives ticed off,not sure what else i have to do,possible list objectives or lead me in right direction,also found a small wall panel i opened
also i am amazed by the choise of textures you used,very impressive,i just love love ancient hammer art

Got an error when loading the mission, after reading the briefing and clicked start. The loading bar wasn't even through the first quote and jumped out from the game, back to windows.
Yeah, i had the same problem with the compressed version. So i downloaded the uncompressed version and that one worked. Seems there's something not quite right with compressed version.
can anyone upload the uncompressed version somewhere else? megaupload is never working for me

The compressed version is a bit of a test for me, I'm afraid: I've *never* had a compressed ibt of someone else's mission work properly myself (though usually it's just missing textures or something), so there's a good chance I've just missed something in that zip file or otherwise not done something I should have with it (like testing it...).
Otherwise, the difference between them is mostly that one is a smaller download than the other and that the smaller one requires GarrettLoader 1.4.1 to install it correctly - the larger one should work with older versions of GL as well. From a technical point of view, the smaller one has had the parts of the ibt file that correspond to textures from the OMs 0000'ed out so they compress real small, with a little note of what they were so that the decompressor can copy them back into place from the OMs when you install it, if/when it works properly - the file format was designed to load quick on the Xbox, rather than be a small/portable system for making FMs with
Also, Thief_4:
Which version of the game are you using (disc/steam/direct2drive)
Which version of the game executable (t3main.exe, by date if you don't know what I mean on this)
Which language are you trying to play in (there should be objectives in English, German and Russian, since I found where to put the text for them)?
And I know megaupload has trouble, and according to Judith it can be picky about which country people are in, so it's a significantly less than optimal solution, but I don't have my own webspace at the moment (really need to get around to sorting that at some point). I'll hack out a slightly larger version of the uncompressed version for Fileplanet sometime soon as well, because while they aren't great, they do still have my previous (and pre-GL) missions up and they did manage about 800 dls each.

If that's the case, the odds are good you've not got the right T3main.exe (or possibly t3.exe: I can't remember if you need to change both).
