The news is good, however it's the wholly different dev team, as for now I'm not convinced they can create not dumbed down Thief, or at least same as TDS.
Also, is it me, or somehow there almost isn't any hype about Deus Ex 3? When it will be released we'll pretty much see how good or bad T4 will be, just like it was with Deus Ex 2.
PS: What engine they build Deus Ex 3 on? I hope it's not UE, I hate it.
As said before...
THIS IS AWESOME !
Oooh, some famous pointy font hiding behind a teaser. Did they thought they could get away with this, ehehehehhehe.
There's hype, but it wasn't teased like this, either, which still seems like they HOPED to start making it last year. Deus Ex 3 had a movie trailer, and hasn't been teased with tiny pixels of info, so there's little speculation, little mystery, and more criticism of all the screenshots and concept art, and talk with people connected to the team.
TIME FOR ANOTHER INJECTION OF STUFF WE DON'T WANT THE DEVS TO FORGET!
An option to disable head-bob, even if it's in an *.INI file, but make it possible, please, or give it a slider control. No, it's not a problem for myself, but it's kept a surprising number of potential Thief fans from enjoying the games.

Kin made it happen for me!
Now THIS is ridiculous, unfunny, and just dumb:

Hi there, new to the forum so wasn't sure whether to tag this onto an existing thread or whatever.
I've managed to collect together the current info on Thief 4 which includes stuff you all probably know and a breif snippet from the new issue of PC Gamer UK (got my subs copy today)

Hope this is interesting for you all!
Sorry to disappoint you guys, but the truth is...

So, will we get real stickers to peel off?
Welcome to our club !
Oh, by the way, thanks for the info.
Although we are using this thread to post all T4 related stuff. It keeps all the info on the same place. Go look at it, we're making a lot of progress with paintbrush comedy...
Hey, nice!Incidentally the ‘Spy’ alludes that the previous plans for a new Thief to be set in the modern era have been shelved.
Thanks for sharing! Man, that's what we WANT to hear, it just needs to be official.
A thread merge would be good, eh?
Also, these news must be in Circle.
Waits for Digi. Hello.
What would the world be like in May 11th if that sticker thing in the magazine was just a very expensive rickroll made by a rich fan that was outraged by T3's lack of rope arrows and a bow upgrade? Haha, I like to crush peoples' dreams.
Now, should we kidnap Stephen Russell and interrogate him about the "Garrett"-issue?![]()
Yes! Give Thief an IV of health potion!
Speaking of Mr. Russell, anybody going to see Ghosts of Girlfriends Past just to see his part?
I personally don't think they will put a number "4" on the title.
TMA had the roman "II" instead of "2" so probably it will be "IV" instead of "4", to keep the style.
That or they won't put anything, like TDS. Just THIEF and a new subtitle.
That would be in line with Thief II, yes. The other three, not so much (although Thief III was the early promo logo), but I'd like that, especially if it meant doing away with the separatist Thief: DS.
I propose the new game be called what Thief 3 should've been called:
Thief: The Dark Age
If this is a sequel, in Garrett's timeline, then that title would be even more apropos.
For me, it's all about the rope arrows. It's what made much of the exploration in the huge levels of the first two games possible. Without those, then to me it's not a true Thief game. I'm all for trying some new and fancy stuff. But the core Thief essentials must also stay in tact; otherwise there is no point. This should have been an easy lesson learned from Deadly Shadows.
