Thief Gold FM "The Phoenix Hath Risen"Oct.6,2008

Well Taffers, it's that time again! Hope you enjoy!
With the Help from Tannar, Pavlovscat, and Cardia1.... as the Greatest Beta-Testers of all time. Without these three fine Beta-Testers this would
not be possible. I say again, it is vital that every FM go through extensive
Beta-Testing, and preferably on different operating systems ect. And Thankyou,
Dussander for your great ShaleBridgeCradle beta-testing site. Superb!!!
WARNING: This FM is not playable in Thief the Dark Project. Sorry!

Warning this FM has some Horrific Scenes in it and may offend the weak Hearted! Let me re-phraze this. If Murder does not offend you, then this is not Horrific, but to some
it may be. Here is the Story :http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthrea...nix+Hath+Risen

Okay I finished it! This was an excellent mission that brought back memories of the original level and taxed my brain a bit until I figured out how to get the last key..lol

The only problem I had was a few places where I got stuck in the floor. This was all in the area where the high priests ghost leads you. Other than that it ran fine. Hope you have another coming soon!

    Thankyou! Stingm

Okay, Looks like you are the first to get stuck as reported. Thankyou!
Tunnels and caverns can be tricky on AI and players sometimes.
A public beta wouldn't be a bad Idea, especially if they were to test alpha
and in just one sector not to give away the story. Hmmmm!

Hey Stingm, you just gave me an idea! Thankyou very much!

    Help needed

OK..I got all 5 switches and herd the swoosh like sound...now what ? The gate in the area with the coffins is still closed and I went to the talisman room and opend the cage with the pillar and try the prayer and try setting that hammer everywhere but nothing is happeningl.

Can someone tell me what to do?

I'm not quite sure I follow from your description exactly where you are and what you have accomplished so far. Do you have the Talisman of Air? As for the Holy Hammer, you just need to frob it in inventory for it to work. Give a few more details so I can help more specifically.

    Lightningline

The magic Hammer is used for opening the magic door to gain entrance into the Talisman Room, and just frob it to bring the bridge to you. So now that you have opened the Keepers vault, you must have the Air Talisman to place on the White Pedestal. The first stage is to take the key"Constantines Temple" and use in on the lockbox at the Altar in the Chapel. The Portcullis you mentioned cannot be opened from the Crypt side.

    Brother Mason

The scroll describes the location of one of the Switches required to open the Keepers Vault. "Resides with Brother Mason" His Spire like tomb is in the outdoor crypt right next to the secret entrance. walk into Brother Masons tomb and look up, and you will see the switch

You dont need a key to release the Prisoners. When you have the
Air Talisman walk out of the Star Room(the one where you took the Air Talisman and go to your right and down the stairs. In the Control Room there is a Floor Lever that will unlock the PortCullis to release the prisoners.

    Thankyou ! Winter Cat

I will start another Gold FM this Winter, and I dont have a deadline for
The T2 map I am working on now. It will probably be a year or so on this one.
I am glad there are still Thief1 and Thief Gold players who still love the Game

I've finished as much of this mission as I can. I'm missing 350 gold in loot (Expert difficulty) but otherwise all other objectives are completed. Any specific "hard-to-find" locations that contain loot?

I do have to ask about one thing...what exactly is the "horrific content" that you mention? I didn't see anything in this mission that even comes remotely close to being "horrific".

I came across two small bugs. In the cityscape, once you've passed the guard post, there comes a sloping path that leads to the backdoor entrance of the monestary. When I walk this path back up, Garrett gets stuck at the very top, as if something is blocking my path. Jumping across is OK.

In the Pit, one of the Hammerites was free-floating above the entrance, and would not move for any reason. It didn't affect the objective related to him, though.

darthsLair, thank you. I knew Bro. Mason was dead, but was looking for the lever in what I thought was his room.
It all comes back to me now..
