Don't give up, SneakyJack. All of the puzzels in this mission have very simple solutions. Maybe not obvious, but simple. If you find yourself stuck somewhere, there is almost certainly an easier way.
Once you are inside, it is possible to get to the Camera Controls without ever seeing a guard.
The mini-walkthrough:
1. Find something in the wine cellar.
2. Use it in the laundry.
3. Go to the kitchen.
4. Go to the main hallway.
5. Take care of the security system.
Oh, and don't be seen until after step 5.
I pride myself having done everything on my own - EXCEPT FINDING THAT BOOK COLLECTION. I must be of great specific stupidity in that regard, but those maps and the X on the one map where a nice brickwall is located (I checked there from both sides) and the scroll with the numbers don't help me out.
PLEASE! Someone tell me what do , I'm looking for it for one long our and I want to go to sleep !
Balboa Is Stephanie's room the one with the tarot cards on the table. I flip the card and a teddy bear head was on the dresser. I just dont know what to do. I am very tired at the moment but want to get through this.
thanks

More blatant book hint.
The maps have four numbers, in sequence.
Find those books.
Frob only those books, in sequence.
Balboa, I think that I have to get the key, Ive done that gave her pet food so that is done what next?
thank you Silent Warrior
Game time 1 hour, 46 minutes, 17 seconds. Actual playing time, about 5 hours or so. Short 45 on the loot total. I thought I had everything, then realized I was short by quite a bit on the loot, about 100 short of the minimum requirement on expert. Ran around going nuts for a bit, trying to figure out what I had missed. Found a couple of obvious things that I shouldn't have missed, but still came up short. The real tough one which finally put me over the top was:
Chest behind torn painting in one of the attics, plate worth 150. I must have missed that one several times, because I know I looked in the same area.
All around great mission. The frustration of a couple of the puzzles made it more enjoyable. Definite replay on this one.
Some things that I really liked:
The mirror which speaks to you, then shatters if you try to frob it.
The guard in a night shirt.
The Sounds Of The Bonehoard. I literally LOL'ed.
The "feed the frog" puzzle. I kept dropping apples on it, and blowing it up, until I figured it out.
Anyone? I have the rare books, the key but unable to open steel plates, do not know how to get through the brick wall in the basement and finally what's with the tarot card and the stuff head?
Thank you
Silent Warrior
Balboa, I appreciate your help, I must be very tired I do not know where the mechanist's bedroom?
thank you
Silent
Two questions. First, what do you do after Lucy vanishes and "Damn, she got away"? Second, what is the combination to the bookshelf puzzle? I realize there's a readable, and I appreciate how clever the puzzle is, but I think I must have picked up the readable and dropped it who-knows-where because I can't find it anywhere and I'm not going to spend hours searching for it.
Eigenface Here is the sequence for the books 41-113-141-199

drowning! Any help is appreciated!
It's in the room on the ground floor with the tarot cards and the note about the ape beast.
A couple other things:
Dewdrop tumbling in the washing machine. Best use of that damn doll ever.
The body coming up out of the water in the basement with the knob in it's hand. Creepy.
Eigenface,
What do you think Lucy might have been doing there in the storeroom?
Also, check your maps.![]()
