New Thief 2 FM: 'The Strange Temple' by Bulgarian Taffer (October 18, 2009)

    Here ye, here ye!

A new FM has made his arrival, to be played and to be talked about. Have fun taffers!

This is the sequel from Walkin' On Mars.

    Story:
You hoped the machine on the surface of the Red Planet will take you home? WRONG! Now you find yourself on another place. This is what you're going to do - find the navigation globe to find your way home. And yes, steal some valuables.

For any ghosters out here: This mission is declared to be ghostable without using any of the invisibility potions. (Though I needed one moss arrow, so you can still beat me!)

Well, I should thank to PotatoGuy and Thor02 for their invaluable help

I don't know how this mission is ghostable without potions and arrow. I tried to play it by myself and I couldn't without using even three potions.

Oh, PotatoGuy reported this. Probably my upload to the server failed. It's not a problem up to betatesting. I'll reupload the file again.

I am already stuck. I have been to every room but one. I know the secret is in the chapel and have found the secret. I just can't find the switch and I have searched everywhere. Thanks for any help!

Edit: I found it right after I posted. Isn't that how it always happens!

You'll have to check the second floor of the chapel.

BIG SPOILER: Look near the round stained glass!

It had me stumped too - get up the ladder and look at the right side of the circular glass window.

Edit: Dammit, BG! You beat me!

Immediately you get two answers and still you find it yourself.

    Finished.

BT, you are a brave man - to publish a new FM, when "everybody is playing Dark Mod"...

I didn't know this would happen. I was close to beta last week and had to release it last week, but I was behind schedule and didn't want to publish an unfinished and untested FM. Meanwhile I got accepted to start studying for a Master's degree at University. So real life took over.

I was back at home yesterday when the Dark Mod was released, but my testers (PotatoGuy and Thor02) reported everything was OK. There was no reason to announce delay.

Plus, The Dark Mod is still beta.

Plus, it's unplayable on some architectures - including my computer (videocard not supported).

Plus, Thief is unique and nobody will stop DromEdding.

Plus, The Dark Mod is not Thief

Yeah, that will be the big factor against the dark mod is that it is not Thief and everybody will have to still use dromed to tell a story about hammerites, mechanists, keepers, or Garrett...well I guess they could still use Dark mod for those, but they would lack some support by the some elements of the community unless general community opinion on this changes.

    Loot?

I've completed all other objectives but am still missing 185 loot to meet my loot objective. Can anyone let me know the more esoteric loot in the mission? Thanks.

    - prjames

Update: Thanks, Iceblade, that's exactly what I needed!
