Sounds like you may have to use DarkLoader. I don't imagine any of the testers used GarrettLoader.

I can run it in Garrettloader, no problem. When the message pops up, just tell GL it is a T2 FM.

I also had the privilege of testing this mission and it is truly outstanding in SO many ways. The objects, textures and atmosphere will knock your socks off. As others have said, take your time. Don't rush through it. It deserves to be savoured!

    Sweet merciful Cthulhu.

I am utterly astounded at the quality of this, and I've not even scratched the surface.

I take my hat off to all of you who worked on this, you have created something truly remarkable.

Saturnine is still making FMs? Hell yeah! His old releases are some of my favorites amongst the fanmission community. If there was any one release that'd get me to call my Thief 2 discs out of retirement, it'd be something new from him.

Also, anyone have a couple of quick beauty shots for those of us who don't have immediate access to T2 to check out?

We've deliberately not put any screenshots up as a: it's almost impossible to get the light right so that you can see it without losing most of the detail and messing with the colours and b: it'll spoil the surprise of opening the front gates (we spent literally weeks getting the opening shot just right without thief exploding, don't spoil it for yourselves, play it.)

I think I must be missing something too obvious here: I have managed to get the loft key out of the safe, and got into the loft area with the 5 dummies in a circle. But the door on the far side is locked, and neither key I have (loft or manor) will open it. I've looked around for anything that might give me a clue, but I can't see anything.

    Help?

This is the best looking mission, along with everything else.
Of all time, thats my feeling anyway.

The Watcher, go to the beautiful bathroom and look around for something you need in there, its small. Look around carefully. hairpin on the shelf

Finished! Without any help, too, ha! Except I haven't, because I only found about 8 of the tarot cards.

That was simply outstanding! My favourite visual parts (beside the whole mansion of course) were the cemetery (I was expecting something small, not this... this sight to behold) and the underground crypts (especially the circly one).

There were also some very clever effects, like the entire wall moving away from the player, or the whole black light puzzle. Congratulations to everyone involved!

My only complaint: I didn't want it to end when I left the manor - I was hoping for something more to happen which would shed more light on the girl, and I would've loved for the story to go on for a bit longer. But maybe that's what the cards are for, so I'll revisit the mission for sure.

We already got A Thief's Holiday which many people replay each Christmas. I dare to say Rose Cottage will become the definite annual Halloween FM.

Yeah. I think I'll do just that.

Edit: Well hell. There they are. Thanks for that. Still gonna play it, though.

Please do NOT post screenshots of this mission.

This is at Saturnine's request as he wants everyone to get the full effect of the mission as it was planned. Enjoy!

I just finished grabbing it. Now I've gotta go through the long process of getting T2 working in Windows 7.

Pity me, everyone. Pity me and wish me luck.
