Once you get the Red Key from the priestess, get the South Gates key from the altar. Now go South and use that key on the doors with the scroll hanging on them.Originally Posted by maga

There is another key sitting on top of an altar above a gold plate.

bob if this is what you mean, I'm in the 3rd level, I killed the priestess and now am in the big room with pipes and 2 metal bridges and a red button in the middle btw I don't know what that button opens

Can I ask if you have done the following...
Done the water area with two mechanist bots in the South?
And
Used the red and blue keys to open the area East?

I think I know where you are!
Is the area you are in look like what is on the map?
If so, once you press the button, look at the map.
That is labelled number one on the map.
Then move north east to number two and so on until you reach the end. There are buttons each time.

bob, I already did the water area with the 2 bots and opened the area with the vlue and red keys and the 2 patrolling hammerites. Up the stairs from there there is the area I'm talking about...there are 2 metal bridges on the sides with 2 archers, there is a row of columns at the far end where I can see a "green area" I cannot access. In the middle of the room I'm in there are computers and this button. On the left side, near the columns that divide the area there is a metal " "square" and I hear there are spiders inside and I hear also the sound of the pagan light or whatever is called.... I tried to Alt F10 and looked into my Thief 2 folder, but cannot find the image..............

maga - screenshots are labelled "dumpxxx.pcx" in your T2 folder (where xxx is a sequential number, probably 001 in your case). You'll need to increase brightness & contrast (in a program like Photoshop, IrfanView or TinyPic) & save the result as a .jpg file, since .pcx files are really big.
You'll need to be a member of a site like Photobucket or ImageShack.
Thank you Sticky, I found it. Unfortunately it comes up in photoshop as a plain all fuchsia image.......

Look at my previous post again.
Essentially you need to, walk to the left of that central button you pushed. (It is number two on the map)
Once in the new space, press another button on the left.
This takes you to the spider. Now in this new room, one of the 'pedestals' has a button on the side.
This takes you to the pagan light with another button.
This takes you to another nearby button and a finally the book and a key.

During this re-make, I got the living crap burned out of me and spent 2 weeks in the Salt Lake City burn center. Still can't get around too good. One of the beta-testers came down with the Swine Flu. Still, I hope we got all the bugs worked out. The only thing I saw when running through it for the last time, was that some Hammerites got stuck in the last map.

I know this thread has been dormant for over 2 years but I'm currently in the hideout level, completed just about all the objectives with the exception of eliminating Meech. Can someone please nudge me in the right direction where I may find him.

Thanks Ricebug. I had a feeling northbound had something to do with it. I did find the keys to the north gate but ran into a wall and couldn't seem to go any further until I finally found the switch.
