You need to find something to use on it first.

Have you used the chisel and crowbar yet - inside the house? If not I think you need to do this first. You will find something you will recognise to use outside later.

Bigger hint: chisel down in the cellar area - crowbar upstairs to help move an obstacle

You need something to dig it out with. Check the servant's note again.

    Clue:
Brother Murus wanted you to do two things after setting up the prayer of consecration.

One of them is what you need to do.
Could you please be just a tiny bit more specific about where and how to bury that poor servant? Or did I misunderstand the hints to Brother Murus in TDP?

I seem to recall digging a hole earlier on in the game. Hmmm.

    Blatant Spoiler:

Grab whats-his-name from the sealed up wall.

Pop him in the hole by the shed.

This was exactly my idea following the TDP reference, I did it more than once but nothing happened. Now I discovered why: his remains must be vigorously thrown ("used") into the hole, not just gently placed ("dropped") to eternal peace. Thank you for the reinforcement.

    Better late than never...

As usual another fantastic mission Haplo. Found most of the loot, and only needed hints for the Shed Key. I loved the swaying chanting undead in the basement, but is there any way to kill them or do you just have to avoid/sneak them? I tried the former repeatedly with no success so I am just curious. The bonus objective, lol. I kina tried that idea on my own, and it was cool when it gave me a bonus. I love when FMs do that.

I do have to say, for some reason Thief was slowing to a crawl every so often while playing this. Dunno if it was the FM, my system, or my damn Virus Scanner or what though... I also got stuck in the corner upstairs by the moveable bookcase. Lastly, there is some sort of brush issue in the basement at the steps where you go down into the room where the storage area is. I got hung up on the steps and couldn't move, then had that error where Garrett suddenly dies. Just thought I'd let you know in case you ever update it.

I forged through the issues I was having though, cause this was definitely a great mission.

To everyone mentioning Undying, count me in too, I love that game. I've been currently replaying it here and there since Halloween.

    Glad you liked the mission.
No, those druids can't be killed. They are way too enlightened to be vulnerable to the acts of mere mortals!

It is interesting how similar is Patrick Galloway's voice to Garrett's.

Just finished this mission. Thanks Ali, it was a blast! Loved every minute of it. It was fun figuring out the puzzles and the gameplay was tense and exciting. The artefact room is awesome! Great effects in there. Very nice work!

kamyk, thank you for bumping the thread - I probably would have missed it otherwise!

haplo, thank you for the mission! this whole series has been great, with puzzles hard enough to make you think but not hard enough to run here to the forum every five seconds the architecture and mood was great in this one, too!

    Water lock

Could anyone tell me where the water element lock is? I've been looking everywhere and to no avail.

Hint: Check the basement very carefully.
    Hint 2: There's a bricked up room.

Never fails, does it? I don't know how many times I've given up looking for something, posted and then solved it myself right afterwards!

The reason the game wants to become sluggish at times is due to the fact that most of the walls are objects rather than solid brushes, which significantly increases object load in this small space.

I really didn't see the need in that, though. :shrug

Anyway, it was an excellent mission with some great and sensical puzzles.

Finally found that missing 100 loot. A little difficult to find:

    ring in living room

on top of one of the cabinets

on the same side as the door but farthest from the window.

Glad you enjoyed the mission. I don't understand, which walls were objects?

Basement area is where I noticed attackable walls.

That is because I enabled the "Collides With Terrain" feature of the weapons. The walls are made of solid and air brushes. Quoted from the mission text file:

    * Notes *

    - Your weapons collide with the terrain.
    - The AIs will notice if you bump into them.

I have a problem: the attic door only opened half way, so I can't fit through. Is there another way in?

This is strange. Try walking away from it and getting close to it again.
Unfortunately this breaks the flow of the mission and there is no other way in. You need to go back to an earlier save. If you don't have any, send me your current save game and I'll fix the door for you.

Thanks, I went to an older save and now it worked.
