And I thought the once-upon-a-time Steam group chat word bukkake we used to do was retarded. Well, it was, but we never did get as banal as all get out. Anal, perhaps, but never banal.

In the spirit of things, I shall now repost terrible haikus stolen from the internet. I hope you're all happy.

    Celestial sun
As I run through the meadow
    Flowers spring to life

    Konohana Tree

    By a divine power blooms

    Flowers spring to life!

    Demons challenge me
They are no match for my brush
    Flowers spring to life

    The one of eight heads
    Is exorcised from this world

    Flowers spring to life

    Ark of Yamato
    For Celestial Plain leaves
    Flowers spring to life

    Amaterasu
The sun shines down from heaven
    Flowers spring to *******>LIFE

IT'S ABOUT GODDAMN FUCKING TIME, DIDGERIDOOS

2017: the year we got Bayonetta, Vanquish, and Okami on PC. It's almost like divine providence, or the universe deciding to align itself with the opinion that studios like Clover/Platinum are the best things that ever happened to it.

Get it again? Of course!! You don't want to be a monster, do you!?

If I got it, that'd be the third time for me. That'd be stupid, right? Right?

No, they said it was the charm, if I recall correctly. These may be mixed up words, but we're not mincing metaphors.

Why couldn't it have been Red Dead Redemption coming to PC?

I only played maybe 30 min of Okami back in the day, and I don't even remember that much now except some of the art design.
I'm open to giving it a chance though. It got known for something, and it's still on my list.
Even then I'm going to finish off Ico & Shadow of the Colossus before this one, as far as PS2 games go.
Still, it's nice these games are coming to PC.

Yeah, if there's one thing about Okami that grates (apart from the length), it's that the opening is as slow as molasses. It only really opens up after a while, so its charms are slow to trickle onto the screen. Once they do though, I think you'll see why people remember it so fondly.

Also yeah, you really should finish Ico and SotC at some point. They're good reasons to own a PS.

Well, he's absolutely right that the game has flaws. But it's not like the most memorable games are flawless, by and large. I'd put something like Stalker above many games that have far fewer flaws.

True. I'd even say the flaws in games like Stalker provide them some of their character. 'GET OUT OF HERE, STALKER!', anyone?

Are those flaws dealbreakers? I don't think so. It's a matter of what you want in a game, and Okami provided me many moments of joy, one of which was the one time you get to draw a face for your mask to fool the goblins into thinking Amaterasu was one of them. I laughed for the longest time whilst she was running around with that on her face.

It puzzles me that someone would discount the game's capacity for moments like that in the face of its length, but the only way that could happen is if you weren't completely sold by the game's attitude to begin with. Which is difficult for me to comprehend, but then everyone doesn't have to like everything.
