    Looking for suggestions on FMs where fog matters.

    Today I FINALLY got fog working in Thief 2 after years of playing without it (it turns out I just needed the newest version of ddfix...so I wish I could say finding the solution made me feel smart, but no ), immediately I started playing through some old favorites where the presence of fog pretty much makes or breaks them ("Swamped", "The Curse"). It's been great fun, I forgot how much atmosphere this effect adds! Also I can play that train mission in T2X without it looking like the train is driving into a black hole.

    Unfortunately I've played with fog not working for so long I don't really know which missions make the best use of it. Can anyone list off some FMs where the presence of fog legitimately changes the gameplay/visuals in a way that playing without it would be a wholly different experience? How new the FM is doesn't matter all that much to me, I'm all for oldie-but-goodies as much as recent ones.

    Good to hear you've got fog working again, The Mike Some FMs lack the whole atmosphere if played without it. I've recently fixed it myself.

    Here are some missions in which fog plays an essential element:
    - Turn of the Tides, by madwolf ;
    - The Greyfeather Gems Part 2, by Morrgan ;
    - Transitions in Chaos Part 1, by Ramirez's Old Fat Burrick ;
    - Dance with the Dead, by Yandros

    Enjoy

    Raid on Washout Central!

    (also, Life of the Party: "Ah, early morning mist! " "What the fuck is Garrett babbling about? ")

    LMAO Melan, yeah...I always figured in that mission that Garrett was just going through some things and the fog hallucinations would pass.

    And thanks for the suggestions! It figures I just played through "Transitions into Chaos" recently without fog...ah well...
    Just in case anyone else is with me in playing through some foggy missions- "The Summit" is another one that kicks all kinds of ass when fog is working.

    I'd say Black Frog Mission 3 was just about the best use of fog that I've seen in a T2 FM.

    Bummer about the fog rendering, Mike. Lots of missions have fog - difficult to remember all that many for sure.

    In These Enlightened Times
    Island Of Madness
    Ranstall Keep
    The Cistern
    Fortress By The Sea (I think)
    parts of Dracula Reloaded & Elizabeth Bathory series (hell, any excuse to replay these!)

    Are you sure you've listed them all, clearing?

    And of course TM, we'll be expecting The Mike's Top 10 Foggy Missions in due course.

    Nah, fog adds to the atmosphere, but it's not THAT important, it doesn't have an influence on gameplay.

    Well, Clearing got more than I could get up with (he surely must keep an inventory track and trick book somewhere ), but definately the first Dracula mission ..... I think also Rose Cottage comes to mind .... and The Den or not .....

    Again, thanks for the suggestions everyone (+1 for Clearing, for listing every fog mission ever made)!
    And Nickie- while I don't know if I'm qualified to make a "best foggy missions" top 10 (I've only had it working for like...two days now), I am considering a top 10 "atmospheric missions" list. Speaking of which, I'm currently playing through the Bathory campaign, thanks to suggestions from this thread, and good GOD is the atmosphere syrupy-thick in this thing! I'm a little embarrassed to say that I haven't played over half of this campaign yet...how did I forget about this one again? Damn my short attention span!
