    First i have to say thx for all these great stuff @ Purgator

    I did some new face skins for the "cowl" zombies

    - original models from "PinkDot".
    - original skins from "Purgator" with my new face-skins...

    Hey, just a suggestion, but how about some new Mages? Always thought there should be some more FMs based on the Hand Brotherhood.

    There is indeed a lack of mage skins, come to think of it. Might inspire people to make more mage themed missions if you made some. I'd throw my hat in too, if I wasn't busy with other stuff.

    By the way, am I the only one who thinks "Hand Mage" sounds like an euphemism?

    I have started new meshes and textures for mages, but it was made with 1.18, so 256 color gifs...
    (and the textures are not HD so).
    And it isn't finished... I have stopped my works I don't remember why... Is it the time to proceed my works?

    I have tried, trust me it's hard.
    If only I could find some pics of traditional Indian/arabic cloathes in a dresser instead of be worn by top models....
    So, I gave up and use the originals one...

    But in it, it's lack of Adepts' skins, there are no custom guards (I just added a special skin for Regalio from DEDX's new skins...)
    I know that you'll do something great from it!

    Perhaps we will do a Before/After presentation when it will be done if you want...

    Yandros, on this matter, why didn't you keep the original ogg format? Were there any issues in using it?

    No, I just prefer WAV (IMA ADPCM) since Darkloader will still convert .ogg to .wav files even though .ogg is supported by NewDark. When you have a lot of files, it greatly slows down mission installation.

    Oh, I suspected it. I was just about asking the forum, since I have a serious lag when an ogg sound is loaded. The file is 2.42 Mb, but if Darkloader converts it back to wav, then it becomes 25 Mb.

    I tend to only use IMA ADPCM (4-bit compressed) WAVs in my missions these days, it's the format LGS used and I don't see much reason to use anything else. It gives you 75% compression over an uncompressed 16-bit PCM WAV file, which is probably pretty close to the compression you get with mp3 or ogg. And as long as you keep the rate at 44kHz, you won't notice much or any degradation in sound quality compared to PCM.

    For A Nice Game of Chess, I used OGG whenever the file size was less than a WAV of equivalent quality. To get around DarkLoader, I gave both the OGGs and the WAVs a .wav extension so that none were converted. The engine (at least with NewDark) doesn't use the extension to figure out the type, so it doesn't have to be correct.

    Back on topic: I like the subtlety of the new mountain pagan outfits. And I can't wait to see how the new mages turn out!

    A wee pack of male youth skins to populate your Thief universe (inspired by friend and fellow taffer, MysteryMan).
    Utilising NewDark 1.21.
    Model used: noblem04: Original Texture: NobleM04.gif.
    In properties shorten model using : Add: Creature: CreatureScale: 0.85.
    This setting gives a good approximation of a young boys height, but do experiment.
    You can use female servant voices to complete the character if you so wish.
    Textures are quite plain, so add emblems or heraldry to suit (squires, page boys, servants, acolytes).
    Mage Pack is on the way, as soon as RL stops tripping me up and smacking me up side the head!
