    Preview : Rocksbourg 0 (Update 08/10/2014)

Time to show some screens about what I've been working on for the past months

This is Rocksbourg 0, or Rocksbourg Origins. I may change its title.
It is a prequel of my Rocksbourg campaign. It shares the same layout than Rocksbourg 4, except as it happens years before the campaign there are a couple differencies : no mechanists, a bit more medieval overall.

I'm working on it as much as possible. Recently I upgraded all the terrain textures from 256x256 to 512x512 or higher. 208 textures in total !

All I've got to say is : NewDark is AWESOME !

Still a long way to go, but I want to release it by the end of 2013

    Absolutely stunning!
Will Rocksbourg 4 and Origins be released simultaneously? If not, which will come first?

All I've got to say is: I've just regained interest in playing Thief.

I was literally saying the other day, "I need a good city FM!" And by golly, you've came along DrK, and you've rescued me (Oh, and other Rocksbourg/City FM fans).

    Thank you!

Something that look very funny to me: Rocksbourg is really the dirtiest city of the world! XD

I had a chance to run around in a version of this mission before we got NewDark and it perfe'd and looked amazing back then. If most of you thought RB 1/2/3 looked extremely stunning you haven't seen anything yet I can assure you. DrK managed amazing draw distances and level of complexity I've never seen in Thief before, I con imagine that has increased exponentially since then. :-D

Rocksbourg 4 is on hold. I focus on Rocksbourg Origins right now, it will be released first.
So far I was working on a common base for both missions.

And you know what ? I seriously consider doing gold editions of the first missions before I release Rocksbourg 4, using NewDark and fixing bugs. But we'll see about it later...

Remember all the framerate issues ? Gone.
You can run on the rooftops, no worry of any kind of bug.
I can add again all the details, all the rooms, all the various roof access I removed, because I had major bugs back then.
    Pure pleasure.

If NewDark got released years ago, both these missions would have been finished a long time ago

    Amazing!
Any estimates on a release date?

EDIT: Silly me, should have read your post more thoroughly...

Man, a gold version of Ink & Dust would be great. Fix all the nasty game-crashing bugs, and I might actually enjoy this FM for once. Not that I hated the design and whatnot, but as I've discussed before, it was never my favorite in the Rocksbourg series (possibly due to the bugs I had with it). Maybe this time I'll enjoy it, without bugs getting in the way.

    Neat!

On the issue of revamping older parts of the series, I would rather see new missions from you than reworkings.

But nothing wrong with fixing bugs though, with a little updating..?
