So, where's the Monaco: WYIM discussion?, fuck's sake!

Anyhow....awesome game, thiefy and arcadey and shit, maaaaan! Imagine an overhead Thief/Hitman/Pac-Man rolled into one, derp! With co-op!

I've been doing sexy co-op with bob_doe_nz, Sulphur, Jeshibu, henke and even resident sourpuss, dethtoll. Awesome times, man.

This video below is -all- that you need to understand why this shit's awesome.

    I KNOW RIGHT

You guys better be ready to replay some missions with me cause I tried it solo and it didn't seem doable, let alone fun. :|

Trust me, all missions are doable in both mp and solo, but since you bastards are so used to Benny Hilling it as a team...not the same when everyone and their mum chases you, huh?

But, yeah, man. We miss you and Jeshibu, so make your Eurofag asses more readily available, dammit!

    :-|

Oh I'm sure they're doable in SP, but are they doable while staying stealthy?

(yes I know we don't have a great track-record for stealth in co-op but it feels like it's at least possible there)

Yup, save a feeeeeeew tight spots (so far the starting level of the Disco, specifically on the dance floor itself) where you have to get creative, it's pretty much doable in stealthy mode. To be fair though, I have been using the Gentleman only, so his character has a slight advantage on the stealth department

I'm currently doing the Museum mission and it's 100% stealthy, the tricky spot being the high-security works of art, but even those can be stealth'd.

So, I picked this up after watching Duck's video

It's fun, but probably more fun in co-op? I'm on Steam if anyone wants to play.

That was some mighty fine mole-work on the Banque if I may say so myself!

(except for the part where I set off all the alarms 5 seconds into the mission, that is)

I'm right at this point too. So far I haven't managed to pull it off using only stealth, but I'll get there. I'm trying to beat the without losing a character. Maybe I'll try again with the hacker on this level. Or if all else fails, go in with guns blazing. I like how certain missions do lend themselves to different characters. My favorites are the Cleaner, Gentleman and the Pickpocket. I don't think I've used the Redhead, the Mole or the Lockpick once, except when required to. The Lookout is nice, but if you're confident about where the enemies are placed and where they're going, she's not really needed.

The game started out slow, I felt, but it's really progressed to be quite a challenge. I'd say it sometimes becomes as difficult as Commandos, except there's no saving/reloading every thirty seconds. That's a bonus, and adds the sort of tension I've not seen since the pre-quicksaving days. I'm amazed a game this challenging was actually produced by a major publisher.

Though the way the game handles line of sight, especially when turning the lights on and off, could be better. When I shut all the power off to the building, I don't expect everyone to see me so easily as they do.

Apologies for the triple post, but I just wanted to upload the last of the Monaco video series I did with henke, Sulphur and Ulukai. Hope you guys have enjoyed these enough to pique your interest in getting this game.

    Highly recommended, srsly

I'm the one going round in circles setting off alarms left, right and center (sorry guys).

    But, it's still fun even if you're a n00b

I'm pretty sure I had a big hand in setting off radiating circles of "COMMENT!?" through the maps, though. Just because that's the only way to play, you know?

Duck does a pretty good Benny Hill theme, doesn't he?

Did you guys ever manage to finish this?

I just finished tonight. Some of those final levels were pretty devious. I think I made about 20 attempts on "Pearls Before Swine" before finally getting 100%. Though I did get the final Casino level on my first run.

I wish I realized before the last couple levels that when you creep about as the Gentleman your disguise wears out waaaay slower. Would've made some of those levels a little easier.

Me, Sulphur and bob_doe_nz finished off the 1st campaign and I totally killed their asses in the final Epilogue mission, which is fitting to the story since I was the Gentleman, hah!. I also played and finished it on solo to get the SP trophy

I also finished the second campaign solo, and yes, some of the later missions are crrrrazy. I still need to get the Cleared All trophy on the very last mission.

I played co-op with Sulphur and Jeshibu up to the Aquarium mission, I think. Awesome times

Do you play as the Pickpocket on that level? He gets the same disguise as the Gentleman gets, plus he has the monkey.
