If you're using Newdark, I'd recommend rendering the lighting in 32-bit mode using the..
..."build_dlg" command.

Yes, something is goofy with this one - all the menu screens, objectives and texts are all in German for me.
And the english goal file is still like this:

Deleting the German subdirs from the FMs\PereirasMansion_with_NewDark switched the mission to English for me. Btw I use fmselector.
But there is another problem now.
The ghosts of the cook and the guard are stuck and the ghost of the aunt is nowhere to be seen, probably stuck elsewhere.

Cattamer, the ghosts are suppose to be with that motion, also you are not suppose to see Aunt Maria, just hear her.
There's a parch and parch3 folder in books folder within my Thief2 folder. Which 1 is English? I downloaded from the new link and loaded game with darkloader. How do i force English? Don't know what to move or delete.

I just downloaded the very latest version this very minute.
But indeed the problems are not fixed yet.
My game is configured to run english, but all the objectives, etc. are still in german.
Also, Zappen mentioned the loot-objectives being wrong. And he is right.

The proper fix for the texts, which will make sure you get german only if you want :
add english folders in the ZIP for every translateable stuff
books\german
books\english
intrface\german
intrface\english
intrface\miss20\german
intrface\miss20\english
strings\german
strings\english
and place the corresponding 'matching' files for each language into one of these folders as appropriate.
Hmmm... did the objnames.str and objdescs.str get translated ?
I see no german version at all for that file.

Still in German while using FMselector.
I also run into problems installing the mission.
FM selector doesn't like unicode filenames, so I had to rename the file.
Now it is perfectly messed up indeed.
You still get german objectives in english.
But one can no longer play it in german if one wants to.
Here is a tiny ZIP that illustrates what the books, intrface and strings folder need to look like for this mission for proper multilanguage support.
This is the only way it will work correct.

Let me know if you have questions.
And, as cattamer pointed out, please remove the ´-character from the ZIP name.
FMSelector can not even install it anyway due to that.

By the way: I updated the ZIP to include 2 fixed texts, where the ´-character did not show up in the game as expected.
(Instead of ´ you see simply a blank. Fixed in strings\english\titles.str and intrface\miss20\english\goals.str)

It's the first time i play a dark mission like that. At the begining i was enjoying it, i liked the haunted atmosphere. And then it was frustating to use a lantern with a small lighting area. (i think it's not possible in thief to have a cone light area instead of circle area)
For me your mission have two little defaults :
- the lantern radius is too small, it's not very realistic, you have to be close to the objects to see them.
- i was sure at the end of the mission electricity will come back. i would have appreciated to see suddenly the mansion enlightened, it could have been a nice surprise. I was a little disappointed not being able to admire the architecture of the mansion, the paintings and all with normal lighting.
