    I looked into this. I think it's not possible to fix it with a dml. First "Romeo" (1122) is an object that's also an objective (take him-->goal complete).
    There's no script like TrigRoomDeposit in T1, so a complicated setup with S&R has to be done.
    There's only a single concrete EndRoom with a WelcomeRoom-script. Adding more scripts to this room wouldn't improve anything.

    Similarly the objective 'When all is done, bring the evidence inconspicuously to Lord Cleaner' is related to the Hypocritical letter, the objective checks off whilst you are carrying the letter in the lobby of Lord Ceaner's house, but after you have dropped it on the floor of the lobby and then leave the lobby it unchecks.
    This is wrong. The letter has nothing to do with that objective. It's just the final objective on expert-->go to that room at the end. But the goal is not set as "irreversible" that's why you're confused.

    Thanks for looking into that Unna.

    So the objective 'When all is done, bring the evidence inconspicuously to Lord Cleaner' is really a bit like the more typical final objective such as ....'When you have finished all your tasks, return to where you started'. I'm not the only confused person, there are a number of comments in the forum about this objective and it was from there that I got the info about the Hypocritical letter

    I have just restarted the mission and went straight to Lord Ceaner's lobby and yes that objective checks off even though I had not collected anything yet.

    Yes it's just a go-to objective. It also has the final flag, so it's the trigger to end the mission if everything else is done.

    If the objectives are written as you have quoted them, then perhaps you need to find Lord Caener and bring Romeo and the evidence to him. They don't say to bring them to Lord Ceaner's house ... If he is in his house, you may need to bring them to the room he is in.

    A potential problem. Some mods provide dds textures for objects, but if the game tries to show such an object in the pre-mission store, it crashes. One example is Autumn in Lampfire Hills with the HDMod. People who update objects can avoid using dds textures on things like arrows, potions etc, because they're often shown in the store, but ALH has several food items. The solution would be to update those object files so they refer to png textures, but is it within the scope of this project to cater for mods?

    Has anyone had trouble with COSAS: Gathering at the Inn? I see the intro fine. Then I'm in the Objectives screen where I can choose a difficult. When I press Play, the game crashes back to desktop. Tried skipping the intro; no effect. Tried changing the difficulty; no effect. I just can't get into the game. I've had no other problems with New Dark, and I didn't see the FM listed in this thread. I tried Mission X, and that works fine, both the intro and the game itself on all difficulties. It's summer, hot and bright, so naturally I want to play a snowy, dark mission

    Just loaded COSAS up and played about a minute of it. No problems. Using DarkLoader.

    Try disabling any mods you may have on.

    Nope. Didn't work for me with DarkLoader either. Kept getting an error message "The LG renderer Direct Show filter was not installed, and the file LGVID.AX can't be found."

    Didn't get any kind of error when using FMSel, as it just crashed to desktop when trying to load the mission, though I could see the intro video fine.

    Other than NewDark, I have no mods installed (to the best of my limited tech knowledge...)

    Since at least the error message occuring with Darkloader states a problem with playing movies, you should try to install the mission with FMSel and then delete the movies in the FM folder created by FMSel. If it works after this, then the problem is still connected to movie playing. If not, then we might need to decide whether to look into the problem when using FMSel or when using Darkloader first.

    We I guess both tales from the cleft missions have issues as peep holes don't work in either mission and movies don't play except for the intros

    boo. Shadow of Doubt is at v08 now;

    -cleaned up various physics screwups on dousable lights
    -the sewer lid will get removed properly after the ambush starts in the first mission
    -changed the splinter lockpick into a nail lockpick in the second mission
    -guards with lanterns now us detailattached lights, and will drop them properly when attacked
    -mission dmls are now fingerprinted (first goal_target with non-zero value is used)

    There are 2 issues with missions objectives

    1. One objective read 'Find and free Romeo and then take him to Lord Ceaner', however this objective checks off when you first pick up Romeo (and unchecks when you put him down) but seeing when you first pick up Romeo you are miles from Lord Ceaner's house in reality the Objective has been either badly written or been set up incorrectly, ie it should not check off when you first pick up Romeo and should only check off when you take Romeo into Lord Ceaner's house. Quicksave

    2. Secondly Lord Ceaner's house is weird, just the very act of entering Lord Ceaner's house causes the objective 'When all is done, bring the evidence to Lord Ceaner'. Firstly there is no evidence to be found within the mission, so players get confused as to what the author means by 'evidence', most people end up assuming it means Romeo, but more bizarrely this final objective checks off whenever you enter Lord Ceaner's house, and unchecks when you leave the house. This means you can even go straight to Lord Ceaners' house from the start of the mission, enter his house and that final objective checks off, even though you have not yet completed any other objectives.

    This is because this objective is not set as irreversible as stated by by Unna in this post

    Lord Binclair can't be fixed with a dml. But it's easy in the mis file/DromEd.

    if you know what needs to be fixed exactly, do tell, and then I'll be able to see whether it's doable via dml - I've been doing this for a while, and there are very few things that can't be fixed when you combine dmls with NVscript.

    goal irrereversibility is easy for example, you just need a junk object that will set it, and a way to fire it.

    I'm not sure if this is a Newdark problem, but in mission 2 of The Night Watch, I can't manage to get through the ventilation duct in order to get the golden egg. The yellow wire prevents me from accessing the rest of the duct. Can 't remember having difficulty with this on OldDark. Saw it reported here too.

    The reason for getting stuck is not the wire or other objects. it's set to no collision.
    I loaded the savegame in DromEd--no problem to go through the duct. I noticed that the player box is a bit stuck in the solid.
    I loaded the savegame in Thief 2 - big problem
    I went down the rope again and climbed back--no problem this time.
    So get back to the rope and try it again. You're stuck in the surface in this savegame.

    Ah, makes sense. I kept mantling up to the duct from the rope, but now I crawled to the top, jumped off the other end, then let myself fall to the duct with the wire, and there was no problem.
