Well, five out of six is still bad.
Well, five out of six is still bad.
Candidate Trump has finally cleared up the abortion gaff, yesterday he said
“The laws are set now on abortion and that’s the way they’re going to remain until they’re changed.”
So that's that.
Such definitive leadership!
Another data point supporting the opinion that leftists are the real fascists:
Don't you just LOVE the irony of people whining about "fascism" while simultaneously creating a climate where people with different beliefs have to live in terror of being discovered?“Supporters generally try to keep it hidden from the rest of the student body,” said junior Dylan Perera, 22. “They’re afraid of losing friends, being ridiculed in class, getting worse grades and are even afraid of being assaulted and physically hurt.”
The computer-science major from LA said he was verbally accosted by a student who had asked about his affiliation.

“She freaked out and started yelling and screaming in my face, calling me a racist and a fascist. It was impossible to even have a conversation,” he said.
Trump’s blunder was believing that pro life activists mean these kinds of statements. If they really believed abortion was murder, a woman who put a hit out on her unborn child would merit punishment along with the rest of the murder-for-hire conspiracy. After all, she is entrusted by God to protect this child, and legally she is the only one who can decide to kill it. What Trump didn’t understand until after the interview is these kinds of cartoonish demonstrations are not to be taken seriously. This is what conservatives do, especially Christian conservatives.
It is worth noting here that the source of outrage against Trump’s original statement isn’t that he proposed something that was right morally but ill-advised politically. The pile on from the pro life leaders was a histrionic objection to Trump implying that a woman who kills her unborn child bears some culpability for the child’s death. The official pro life position states that women who have abortions are merely victims. While it is true that women are more easily deceived, this doesn’t absolve women of responsibility for their sins. Moreover, in this case it is the pro life leaders themselves who are assisting in the deception by telling women in advance that they are merely victims if they have an abortion.
Personally I've had thoughts along the same lines. That most "pro-life" activists don't really give a shit about the issue, but love how it gives them an opportunity to feel sad and publicly virtue-signal to their friends.
What even is a leftist?!
You don't seem to be stupid so it's kind of bizarre seeing you re-hash this absurd notion that all of humanity sits on a 1-dimensional spectrum.
As far as I can tell, a "Leftist", or, when referred to as a group, "The Left" is a nebulous conglomeration of a bunch of things some people don't like personified into a single entity that can be more easily railed against.
Basically, they're political scarecrows.
Damn hippies who refuse to believe corporations have the best interests of society at heart.
Not chameleon enough. They're perfectly capable of blaming the left for corporatocracy, when they're not arguing for it.
This is especially true when a moderate like Clinton is running. I'm already seeing the start of a groundswell of right-wing criticism of Hillary Clinton for sometimes acting like a Republican.
Clinton can only be seen as a moderate by our current standards. Back during saner days, she would've been seen as a pretty hard right Republican, falling just shy of being a Neocon.
Now? Well, if my Facebook wall is a good measurement of the political pulse of the nation, she's apparently a communist. Benghazi Benghazi Benghazi Benghazi Benghazi Benghazi.
Hillary Clinton. Ugh.
It's easy to see why she's getting hate from both sides. She seems to stand for the status quo, for continuing military interventionism, and continuing on our steady march toward global corporatocracy and modern serfdom. Instead of championing progressive economic ideas she just blows them off by calling them impractical in the current political climate. And among the candidates, she is also the closest to being a proxy for the "establishment", i.e. the loose conglomeration of big donors, political bosses, Washington lobbyists and think tankers, big media, corporate board members, and so on that tries to steer both parties and the major media. This is an election season where the bases of both parties are feeling unhappy with the status quo and anti-establishment, and a lot of us feel like she is bought and paid for. Also, she's always speaking in politically calculated statements without much regard for whether they are consistent or true. I dismiss Benghazi as nothing more than a Republican obsession with trying to trap her in a lie, but even so she seems like a scandal magnet what with all the 1990s baggage and more recently the email server. If that's not enough, I read a whole lot of her State Dept emails posted from various sources (left and right) and the impression I got was that she was little more than a figurehead with no vision or leadership ability. So what is there to like? She has genuine support from feminists and PC obsessed social justice types, but otherwise there doesn't seem to be many people who are for her as opposed to being against someone else.
The "establishment" (see above) is running scared from Trump, but I also think it's waging a low key campaign against Sanders within the Democratic party and trying to convince Democratic primary voters that they must vote for Clinton because Sanders can't win a general election. In all likelihood, it will be this establishment, by their control over Democratic super delegates, who will decide the next President. So get ready for President Clinton.
This election has me really depressed and wishing I never moved back here.
Considering you think Thief is a window into another universe rather than a video game I'm not sure you should be lecturing anyone on reality.
Thief is not real? Shit, I need to send back that Mechanist outfit I bought on eBay.
You know, I was about to say that this turn of conversation isn't very on-topic, but then it hit me that this is exactly what political debate in the US looks like anyway.
Sulphur... how very astute of you to see that. I for one cringe when “they” use the term debate for the free-for-alls that are broadcast. These are not debates. The Rep rebates are comical. The Dem debates have been beyond pathetic. Can Burnie suck Hillary’s fem-dick any more louder? He is starting to attack her with area puffs and marshmallows... Meanwhile, a lemon sucking, strange comb-over dude is calling Grandpa from the Munsters a liar. Oh what good times we have. No one to pick. It has been this way in the USA for decades now. Anyone that could run this place does not want the job. Live and be as free as you can, for as long as you can... it is going to get ugly... soon. It is already beyond ugly at US college campuses. The 1st? What that? My safe space has been invaded by reality! Oh the horror of having to face something more than gum drops and soma!
A "virtual universe" has nothing to do with anything "pseudo spiritual"...it simply means, it is a simulated universe that is generated from software. Immersive simulation games/experiences, like Thief, Deus Ex, etc., all involve the player operating in a virtual universe, with unique rules and characteristics that define that universe.
At debating, you are simply outclassed, and have been soundly defeated...yet sadly, due to your delusional condition, you don't even know it...Unlike most intelligent people who would seize the opportunity to listen and learn, you instead lash out with erroneous and irrelevant ad hominems, in order to avoid looking inside yourself...where the greatest opportunity of self-improvement awaits you.
It doesn't matter, meat robot. It's still not a "virtual universe." It's a video game with some nice worldbuilding. All there is to it. Stop using words wrong and then lecturing others about how smart you are.
You know, for every time you call someone else deluded, I hope a pigeon shits in your eye.
Thief's still not a virtual universe, by the way.
