Did Thief Series (1-3) Predict Our Polarized Political Climate?

Did the original Thief series (1, 2, 3) predict our current polarized political climate and it's pendulum dynamics of swinging from one side to the other then back again? Example power shifting from Pagans to Hammers to Mechanists to Keepers etc. with the City in the middle or as the pawn/stage? Discuss.

The Metal Age was not very metal, nor was it an age. Discuss.

No. The political pendulum was swinging long before there were even personal computers, much less the Thief series.

You may be interpreting a bit too much into those games. What i think it does though is provide a statement about religion in general. Or catholicism, specifically.

Keepers control everything and everywhere, there is no escape from them. World wars are always occurring because of their shadowy business. Every Baron is just a pawn of their Great Chess Game.

Don't forget that Donald Trump has a son called Barron, which is close enough.

You received the answers that you requested. LGS wasn't a company of soothsayers.

On a long enough timeline, anything will 'predicted'. I can state right now that in the future, a powerful European politician will participate in a war outside his country wherein many people will die, and which will cause resentment at home. And I'll be right, because that has happened, and will happen again eventually. Which is why prophecies eventually work, they're vague enough to apply to any event that always happens

What kind of answers were you expecting? This is a gaming forum after all.

Here is an example of a sensible and constructive response despite not contributing to the actual discussion.

Did "Bucket Get" predict the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge? They both have buckets. Discuss.

You could make a parallel thread in the Deus Ex forum. You might get more of a discussion since DX1 proved to be surprisingly prescient.

ZB, that kind of comment is neither sensible nor constructive.

Good eye, that was the intended reference. The exact quote is "Discuss Amongst Yourselves." But its become more of "In a Van Down by the River" type discussion.
