Sounds of the City if it were real

A team of researchers reconstructed the ambient sounds of Paris in the 18th century. I like to think this is how the City may have sounded like.

Some of these extracts would be great for FM's

Great post! I love when FM's have these noisy bits in the background, which adds a lot of realism and life to a mission.

I didn't get to hear the whole thing. Will try again tonight, but I think this is great, and amazing if truly accurate!

Crowd noises in games where there are no crowds is creepy and wrong.

People in perspex houses shouldn't throw Super Balls.

Have to agree with that. The crowd sound is so often done incorrectly. It either sounds extremely out of place, or then it just unimmersifies the gameplay with its flaws.

Regarding FMs, it depends on context. The soundtrack could be used in a cutscene or briefing. It could be used as background sounds in missions like LOTP from Thief 2, where the player may not explore street levels. Personally, I'm enjoying the OP because I like history.
