i had my note book screen fixed and now my programs run on lower resolution! my resolution is 1600x900 but thief runs on 1440x900?

the screen broke so i got a new one! but its just games that run on lower resolution! maybe i need to uninstall the video drivers and catalyst control center and reinstall?

Is the replaced screen a monitor built into a laptop or notebook, or is it an external monitor, connected to your computer via a cable on the exterior of the machine?
LAPTOP... i cant uninstall catalyst control center maybe that could help!
Laptop? Very strange indeed. I did not know that changing the screen could be done in a way which the machine could recognize and react upon.
I do not have any idea what could be done, but before you do anything, a full backup of the machine would be a very good thing.
Some laptops are available with different resolution LCD panels as factory options. Are you sure a lower resolution display wasn't fitted when it was replaced?
i guess reinstall catalyst center but i get error message impossible dll to complete uninstallation!
but its just programs like thief that run on lower resolution... instead of 1600x900 its 1440 i see two empty bars by side
could it be a conflict between intel graphics and radeon?
It would be very helpful if you gave some more details on your laptop - what make and model is it, what driver versions do you have installed and which operating system are you using? Also, does this just affect Thief or are other games running at a lower resolution?
So your laptop has a intel video device and a radeon video card? The restart it, switch to BIOS and enable the radeon card, disable intel device (or the other way around).
Is the right driver selected in the Thief menu? (Options/Video/Hardware Driver)

You wrote about the game and videos, then about the "game intro". What do you mean by this intro? Is it a movie, or a part of the game? What happens in that intro?

Catalyst Control Center is for Radeon only, but not for Intel Video device. Restart the Laptop, open BIOS and search for your Radeon Video Card. Is it there?
Go to you intel graphics and catalyst graphics interfaces and make sure that nothing is set to override applications.
I have intel running at 1600*900 but when i allow catalyst to override applications when i enter games it will change to whatever is on the catalyst ui ( sometimes it makes its own decision based on your choice of performance vs quality. They both have override application functions which will cause a conflict.
