    T2 FM: Nosferatu - updated to v1.1 (13 Nov, 2017)

"- I must journey far, far away... to the land of thieves and ghosts!
... and young Hutter traveled many busty roads, but at last the glowing peaks of the Carpathian Mountains towered before him."

This is how the silent movie Nosferatu begins in 1922. And later Abraham Van Helsing did this journey as well to Transylvania, but what they found there was not expected.

Now I have this little journey as a Halloween present for you. This mission might be familiar since is a resurection of an abandoned alpha - my very first Thief alpha - which was set aside thanks to the narrow Dark Engine limits in that time. Finally that mission was released in another form but not in the form I would liked. I wanted something like this and I had to wait almost 14 years to finally succeed The mission is rather a reboot than a remake, maybe a pilot of a brand new series, what I'm just planning for now.
In terms of style it's a gloomy stealth mission in a barely deserted building, which can be familiar from elsewhere, not from Thief.

But enough of speech, I want to say a BIG THANK YOU for Nightwalker, who as usual supported and helped me, not only with the texts but with everything else! And also thank you for my stalker friends Strelok71, blind_dog and Sidor from the Zone, for their testing works. And many thanks to everyone who made the stuff what I used in this mission (I hope I did not forget to list anyone in the info). And I want to dedicate this piece for my two very old friends here, who are not active for a long time (as I know): Metal Dawn and Turi Robert. These two taffers were my first supporters in those good old times when I started all of this in 2003. You see my friends, sometimes the time stops for a moment.

Happy Halloween and enjoy the Carpathian atmosfear once again!

Ι am using the newdarkloader and the OM starts instead of the mission... What am I doing wrong?

    edit:
the above happened with the d/load from the Archive link... I re d/loaded from Mega link and it starts fine.
In addition, the info on the loader when I tried to play the Archive version (and had the OM) was just: "you are on your own", while from Mega the info page is as it should be.

Finished this in about an hour and a half. Wow, Sensut, you really make the best and most realistic castles out of anyone here. It's absolutely surreal at times, and looks rather visually similar to the castle used in Herzog's Phantom der Nacht. I loved exploring the castle, though I was disappointed to see so many fake doors. There's a room at one point that has nothing but fake doors in it. I thought you were close to the cells limit (given how huge and impressive the castle is), which would've explained this, so I opened and optimized your mission for curiosity's sake and it turns out you have ~16k still available. Adding more rooms would have also made progression more realistic; as it stands, the whole Overlook Key thing felt a bit jarring and disconnected from the rest. Anyway, that's just a subjective observation, I doubt most people will care and it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things since the mission is still really good regardless.

I overall really enjoyed the mission (helps that I'm a fan of both Murnau's masterpiece and Herzog's version). The atmosphere is excellent throughout and the mission was never too obscure nor too hard, even if the loot goal may be pretty steep on Expert. I'd definitely love to see more missions from you!

Yes, I'm a big fan of Stalker as well

@ skacky: those rooms are reserved for the next missions, the administration part. I don't wanted to open everything now because it makes no sense yet. Turned out fast that this is not a one mission story and requires continuation, so I had to reserve some resources for the future. According to my plans we'll be back here. On the other hand this building in the reality is a big maze with a sort of small rooms connected with each other by narrow corridors and crossings up-down everywhere like a termite mound. It's damn hard and sometime impossible to reproduce them in Dromed, plus requires a lot of work and time which I don't really have right now. But I'm glad you liked it

Strange because all links contains the same pack. There is no difference between them. But I'm glad you managed it

Just finished this and my oh my what a Masterpiece

Everything about this mission was excellent and far better executed than the original Love Thief. I did get stuck a few times but eventually I would find out what to do and that's what I liked about this mission how it always kept me wondering what I had to do next. The Castle was very maze-like too but I loved it since there was so much to explore. The horror elements were also used very well and when I went and opened Lucy's cell and all of a sudden Dracula popped up it was very creepy and one of the most well executed horror elements in the mission especially since after that point he kept following me on my way back to the start
I know I'm ranting a bit but I really just wanted to show my appreciation for something as great as this. I can't wait until the following missions after this one

    Plus one more tidbit:
That S.T.A.L.K.E.R. area was another one of my favorite things and an awesome Easter egg. It also kinda reminded me of the Metro series as well. Anything that has to do with a post-nuclear apocalypse fascinates me and I absolutely love games like Fallout, Stalker, and Metro so this Easter egg was pretty awesome to find in Thief

Well it won't let me edit my other post so sorry about this but I have another question.

    1. Where is the hidden overlook key?

    2. Where is the key to the basement door at the rogues place?

Again sorry for posting again. I think it was because I did a quick reply it won't let me edit that one. Moderator can delete it if necessary.
