    New Laptops

I've been shopping for a new laptop but most of them don't have dvd drives any longer. So how would I load my old Thief games, or any other games? Any suggestions for a laptop with a DVD drive that's in the $1000 range?

Buy them for cheap on Steam or GOG?
Install them onto a desktop PC and copy the folder over?
Buy an external optical drive if you really must?

Yeah, they're pretty cheap if you need one to use old media.

Be careful, and look at reviews online for different brands before you buy one. Consumer laptops today are increasingly cheaply built. My sister bought an ASUS, it lasted a year. Acer and Lenovo seem decent overall. HP has garbage consumer laptops from what I heard, but good business ones (more expensive obviously)
