Hi, i'm laughing_rat and i'm running a theivery server

Something I came across a few days ago:

You have a psycho fan LaughingRat and he's trying to impersonate you!

    I wonder who it is....

I love his spelling of the word
Thievery
people always seem to switch the
ei
so they write
Theivery
or
Theif

    Annoying.

(Yes, I know he renamed the word thievery to theiver because the server name would otherwise be the same.)

LOL! That's beeeutiful, Omega! Thanx for the screenie and alerting us. The responses here are hilarious, and the icing on the cake: Luaghing_Rat himself! Take a bow, Luaghing_Rat for the funniest post I've seen this month.

Hey, is it possible to ban IPs from this forum? If not, no matter.

Also, a side thought to server admins. How does baning an IP work with dialup people? Every time they dial up they get a new IP, and you can't exactly ban everybody on their ISP from playing Thievery, can you?

    Wait....wait....nm.

    Banning IPs is a-OK.

    I mis-read Buho's post.

I thought he was talking about banning IPs from TTLG, and I panicked.

Just forget that last post. Sorry.

Sure you can. As small as the Thievery community is, it's unlikely that banning an entire dialup ISP (or at least the block of IP's from a specific geographic area) will block out more than just the person you intended to block. Even if it does, there are ways to refine your blocked IP ranges, and other ways to let specific players in, even from a blocked IP range.

Well... Since he is so nice to share his ip with the rest of the world why not send him a little something for it...

Why bother? It's not really worth the effort, now is it?

Good deal. I'll make sure I have the current version then, and put it on the Crackaz Practice Server.

Cool. If you could, invite me. I'd like to see how a full server of people plays it.
