    got stuck in Library Town

    Just downloaded Library Basement, but wanted to play Library Town first ....... and got stuck (of course).
    What's about the library doors, the locked ones. I managed to open just one, but not all others. I can't find a key on anyone or anywhere and hitting the doors with my sword gives me the idea that it will open ............... but it doesn't.
    I already was in the sewers where I found the Hand of Glory, but nothing else ...... except of course the four elements. Do they play a role in this adventure anywhere b.t.w.?

    Help?!!

    The Talismans don't play a role in the mission, that I'm aware of. As for the doors you mentioned, I'm a bit confused, because you don't really get INTO the Library in this mission, only in the Basement one. Can you be a bit more specific about which doors you're curious about?

    The ending in this mission is rather confusing. As Nightwalker said, you can't get inside the library in Pt 1, however, it looks like you could. The mission ends when you have got all the other objectives finished (except for getting inside) and have opened the door leading seemingly to nowhere (you'll know when you're there, it's in a small "garden" with a lockbox on a table, it has Keeper insignia on it). If you've opened this door, then you don't have to open any other doors (from your description I understood that there are other locked doors behind this but frankly, I'm not sure if I understood correctly).

    I'll try to describe the room.
    All the walls are bookshelves with books on them. Some "bookdoors" light up, but are closed. I think the're 4 or 5 doors. I was able to open one.
    In the middle of the room are 4 couches and between them a lamp I think.

    Can you get on with this?

    and Preno ............ I forgot ................ I've already been to the little garden with the table, lockbox (which includes a key) and I already hit the door which leads to nowhere.

    The only bookcase in that room that opens is the one you've already gotten open. Having them all light up like that is rather confusing. The mission ends at the door you found in the little garden, when you've completed all the other objectives.

    I can't relate to this, but I'll try again.

    Did play it again. The room with books is Sorgoms Book Store. Ther're 7 doors to open. Only one really does.
    I still can't find the Library Dockyard Key and what's its use?

    It just opens the door that you said you'd already opened in the grassy spot at the top of the ladder. It doesn't have a label so you probably already have it and don't realize it. You need it to end the mission but not for anything else. You get into the Library dockyard section in the second mission.

    As requested I made a dml for this mission
    Save it as miss20.mis.dml

    DEDX gamesys dml fix

    Code:
    DML1//DEDX fix//Library Town pt1//library.gam.dml

    -ObjProp -7222 "Fungus"
    //{
     //   "" true
    //}
    Code:
    DML1
    //Fix Dock Key//The Library Part 1: The Town //miss20.mis.dml
    +ObjProp 40 "Scripts"
    {
        "Script 0" TrapSetQVar
    }

    +ObjProp 40 "TrapQVar"
    {
        "" =1:goal_state_5
    }
    +Link 887 40 "ControlDevice"
    {
    }
    +ObjProp 887 "Scripts"
    {
        "Script 1" TrigContained
    }
    +ObjProp 887 "FrobInfo"
    {
        "World Action" Move,Script
    }

    FYI

    The library.gam.dml Unna has posted above appears to be essential for this mission when playing via NewDark 1.26

    When in the sewers and surrounding streets you may experience significant corruption to your saves, leading to crashing to desktop, this is likely due to the fact the author use the DEDX gamesys to make this mission. This issue has not been reported previously so may only be an issue with ND 1.26

    To save this dml, name the file 'library.gam.dml' and save as all files.

    Also note the the dml to cause the dockyard key to check off appeared to worked with previous Newdark versions, but with Newdark 1.26 it does not load correctly, meaning with Newdark 1.26 the dml does not work, however the objective does correctly check off when you complete the mission, so use the dml but do not worry if it does not work in game.

    I assume by NewDark 2.6 that you mean NewDark 1.26?
