    The Mystic Lady - 21st Apr 2004

    Hello Taffettes and Taffers,

my new FM The Mystic Lady is now available at

    http://thiefmissions.com/

(thank you Jason for this ultra-quick upload )

Well, more precisely it wasn't me who built this FM. My husband and I got this funny FM from CHRISTINE (*hug*) as a wedding-gift...

If you want to have a look on a few screenshots first... No problem... here they are:

    http://hometown.aol.de/zinkchristine/pageM011.html/

Special thanks to Nightwalker and her husband, they gave this FM what it really needed: English texts!

    Have Fun!

    Dinky

    Happy Birthday ShadowWolf!!!

I extra waited with the release to put it on your birthday...
(well, though it's not exactly the truth - at least it sounds very nice )

Do you feel like swapping cakes? A piece of my wedding-cake for a piece of your birthday-cake?

Delightful, as always with one of Christine's missions! I love the new objects, especially the balloons, bunnies, and to a lesser extent, the chocolate bars.

There was a bug in mine, not a breaker, though - all the readables were blank. I finished the mission, then went into the /books/ directory to read the .str files in order to see what I missed

Lovely work, and congrats on your marriage, dinksmallwood!

    Cheers,
    -M

I seem to be a bit stuck... the rear exit key doesn't seem to work on the double doors near the place where the lady is roaming...

    Am I missing another key?

I just downloaded the mission and the texts are definitely missing. Hold on folks and I'm sure Heike will fix it and put up a new version.

The family in the pictures is Dinksmallwood, her new husband and their little girl (who happens to be my adopted Granddaughter!). Isn't she a sweetie?

I guess I must have missed it, but where is the pantry key? How do you open the locked pantry door in the kitchen?

Is it possible in this case that Christine removed the readables intentionally as they were of a personal nature?

No, the texts weren't removed intentionally. I edited the translated files for Dinky and I know they were supposed to be included. Obviously something went wrong when they were inserted in the mission. I've emailed her and I'm sure it'll be fixed up in no time!

I have downdoad it and fixed it. I will upload it to Jason now, just wait a little bit.

@ Yandros - I never though of release this mission, so I only made a German Version. Dinksmallwood had to zip the file new to include the english translation. All textes are in the mission, she just missed the page_0: "... so thief won't show the textes.

(Dinky blushes and is very embarrassed)

I'm very sorry for the text-bug and hope you can forgive me. I was so crazy about the release that I made the really stupid mistake to not format them into str-format...

Thank you very much for your quick help, Christine...

I hope the updated file is up soon (and covers my nitwittery )

For those who already downloaded the bug-version!

    Thanks Jason, my life-saver!

For those who already downloaded the version with the missing english texts:

To avoid that you need to download the whole mission again, you can also fix the bug by downloading this small file.
After the download simply unzip the file in your Thief2-folder ('The Mystic Lady' needs to be already installed via Darkloader)

    http://home.tiscali.de/dinksmallwood/books.zip

Again I'm apologizing to you all!
    (*Dinky still is very embarrassed*)
