Thread: Move it Tommy!

    Move it Tommy!

Once again it's late at night. In fact so late that even this forum is deserted...
Time to put up some dance music. [MP3|4619KB]

Unfortunately your compliment isn't unambiguous. But I only accept unambiguous compliments. So please remove yourself.

Great remix . Definately one of the best shock mixes I`ve ever heard. Very club style music.

I like the flowthorugh here. My one question is why the use of the song you used as the backdrop? Oh I can understand why, but why this over something else?

I had planned on a dance-track with shock samples even before I did "killing kenny". Kenny just happened inbetween because I heard it and realized it gave ample opportunities for little jokes.
This one (Move it Tomy!) was more a process of finding the right song-sample for the subject of Suarez' and Siddons' logs. So I tried what I could do with some samples and a choice of loops I had done.
There wasn't a deeper meaning in finally choosing this song over the others. It just worked the best and it has a groove that didn't drive me up the pole after listening to it for the 10,000th time.

    Ahh. Alright then.

Good work soldier. I enjoy this. I enjoyed the little in jokes with kenny ('move it!' after the guy singing about his messed up legs....). Need I go on?

Good stuff Kolya, keep on editing and posting those copyrighted tunes

I was expecting to hear Rhythim Is Rhythim's 'Move It', though.

It's very well 'cut'.. You've integrated the logs pretty much completely in time to stuff.. nice

However, it really isn't "dance" music ;p

Or perhaps I've been to too many Industrial clubs of late...

Nice! Question, though. What program do you use/how did you paste the SS2 sounds on top of the music without erasing the music itself?

I think with most sound editors you just select a chunk of the audio file, and hit Paste (while having selected and copied a whole sound effect in another window) thus merging them.

I also liked that song itself (Strange, it's not my kind of music). I might look for the tune later What's it called?

Well, the best sound editting program I have is GoldWave, and it doesn't do that. Though there might be a special setting for that; I'll have to check when I have the time.

The song is called "All good?" and I used the free audio editor Audacity which gives you several tracks to be played synchronously. It's got a very intuitive interface.

I think noone who is interested in the original music would download my version instead. So no harm done, right?

Try the Edit/Mix... function, that does the job.

Interesting mix. Thanks, Kolya. The gripping tale of Rebeccah and Tommy was never so head-bob-initiating.

Got the song! Thanks Kolya. It's a bit more rap than I hoped, but it's all good

I made a hardcore techno track with ss2 samples in intro but Im not quite sure if Im satisfied with the song. Maybe I should make a new very ss2 oriented song.
