How to Make a Wall Climbable
From FleshWorks
by Subjective Effect
In order to allow for wall climbing you will need to give the player the climbing gloves //and// use a climbable texture. In the original missions particular walls were climbable once Garrett obtained the gloves. These walls are only stone, manmade walls.
- Once you have created the surface you want to climb you must texture it with a climbable texture. Open the texture browser and right-click on a texture. Now click on Material Info. If it is climbable it will have a Material Category "stoneclimb". If you try the same on, for example, a floor texture you will see that it's Material Category is different - "stone", "ceramic", "tile" or something else.
- Apply the climbable texture to the surface and make sure that you have given Garrett the gloves. Use the PlayerUpgrades PlayerUpgrades tut to do this. Test in-game!
NB: There are many textures that look like you should be able to climb them. If the Material Category is not "stoneclimb" you will not be able to. I don't know how, or if, you can make a non-climbable texture climbable.
