It brings me great pleasure (no really) to offer anyone who wants it their own E-mail account at trioptimum.com, which can be accessed via web interface, POP3, IMAP, or SmartPhone!

What is this? Just an address forwarded to a Google Gmail account?
No, not at all! Google has been gracious enough to fully host the E-mail for Trioptimum.com! This is truely an @trioptimum.com address with the power and convenience of Gmail. (If you're technically inclined, the MX records for the domain point to Google's E-mail servers.)

How long will this last?
Forever, as far as I can tell, as long as you're using the account. Accounts that aren't logged into for over 180 days, can and will be deleted without warning.

How do I get one!
I'm glad you asked that.

Just read the directions and fill in the information on this secure form.

Despite this fancy registration form, your account will not instantly be created and available. They're still manually created in batches on a roughly 1-2 week schedule.

Notification of created accounts will be posted here in this thread.

Can I have more than one account? Can I sign-up my friends/family who are too lame to visit TTLG?
Yes, but let's not get too stupid about this. My time and effort is not worthless, and we're limited to 600 accounts. 600 is a nice chunk, but if people get too crazy requesting accounts, it could easily get out of hand.

Can I get I get username "SHODAN?"
No.

That's a f$cking cool WebMail logo! Who did it?
Our very own IceNine did that. Sweet isn't it? Kolya also submitted some cool logos which we'll definitely see in the rotation. Yakoob and AxTng1 submitted logos, as well. Yeah, they both sucked, but they both made me laugh, so they still get props.

Two of you got E-mail replies as to what was wrong with your requests. For future refference, no spaces around the comas and temporary passwords must be at least six characters.

Why not put a web based signup form up?

If you have some web space it's pretty easy, you can usually set it up so you get an email with every request and put some javascript logic in it to get the fields right.

If you need help PM me (I could probably do the backend work but my design skills stink!)

Believe me, I thought of this. . . something that would log requests to a .csv file for easy import, but, then I realized it'd also need to have one of those "captcha" things so that submitters would have to prove they are human and that was gonna make things overly complicated.

Out of curiosity is there anything we can do on our side of things to help simplify matters? Granted there probably arn't going to be that many people outside of shock fans that would be interested in accounts, but that's still alot of people bombing you for account requests(such as myself).

Edit: By the way thanks for the quick turnaround rates on activation. I'd sent one or two friends of mine a link to this thread since I'm unsure on if they read the forums here, but they'd likely be interested in what brought about the triopt mail address.

Is there some way to get the pop3 going? I tried with the same address as webmail and with the gmail instructions, but couldn't get it to work yesterday.

First you gotta go into the settings through the web-access and enable POP for your account, then just follow their instructions for your E-mail client. It does work, I've got it going on a couple different machines.

I appreciate you thinking about that. There's an initial flurry right now, 'cause it's new, so I've been checking the admin account and creating users once or twice a day, but when it slows down, it'll be more like a once a week thing.

I am a little concerned that I've already had to reset two passwords for people. It's no big deal yet, but under the old system of simply offering aliases that forwarded to outside E-mail accounts, I was doing that for almost 300 people. If support gets out of hand, some of you may get drafted into a support role. >=]
