Incredible news, my 360 was made for this moment!!!
The latest issue of OXM UK reveals that its cover disc next month will have a demo of BioShock. Thanks to 'splicer' from the 2k Forums for the pic.
So I guess now all the obvious questions arise, like is it the magazine's exclusive (which means it's August 2nd we have to wait til) or will it be out before that issue? Also, is it only the 360 version of the game that will be having a demo out or will we PC gamers also get to taste it too? Furthermore, what will the demo comprise of? I'd say most likely a bit of the beginning of the game like with System Shock 2.

I sure as hell hope the PC gets a demo, not just in that mag. It'd be lovely to get a taste of the game before I buy it.

How can that magazine announce the demo when its not really going to happen?

Im not amused that my friend splicer on 2k is being made to look like he doctored that shot, there has to be an element of truth in there somewhere.

Surely oxm cant just claim they have the demo without securing it firstWe are not releasing a demo via OXM next month. This magazine scan is false. I have double checked my facts.

****I just rang Steve Brown editor of the official xbox magazine (uk) and he sounded very confident that the demo would arrive in time, thus confirming that there actually is a demo.
He explained that they would have to send the disc off to Microsoft for there approval and that he doesnt see any problems in it being late for next months magazine****

Nobody was saying your friend had photoshopped the shot, just that information within the shot, ie that which was printed by OXM was not correct.
2K have said for quite some time that there is no demo planned, at least before release and magazines have been known to print and promise things that fail to materialise.
Er, yes they would actually. As David says, sometimes these things don't end up happening.They will not post it in the OXM if they don't have it in the august disc...
From the magazine's perspective, it's in their interest to be blindly over-confident with something like that. They've already succeeded in getting people interested in buying the next issue ... anything after that -- like being entirely accurate with the actual chances of something happening, in this case zero -- takes second place.

Suggesting that the magazine's claim is false is not at all the same thing as accusing Splicer of doctoring that shot.

Firstly it was the suggestion that the scan was false
Secondly, that should make sense, i trust people at an "official" xbox magazine to have a finger in some kind of pie.
Thirdly,He is expecting it, people must have played some kind of demo at that bioshock launch party, i doubt ken was there manually resetting every machine.

BioShock's arriving pretty soon, so a demo isn't necessary. But, if there IS one, then I'll be all over it like a bad suit.
