    hey guys

Im working on an SS2 fansite.. and I want it to be complete. Does anyone have those pictures, or the whole thread archived, of the dojo "level" & stuff - I think it was a game Dev who posted them like 2 years ago or something? I was putting it together a while back, but then my HD died.. and unfortunately I lost this material

There was originally a Japanese-style level similar to The Matrix when Neo learns Kung Fu.
I do not have the pictures

And before Matrix even came out which is even more interesting. Shame LGS never put it up as an optional extra SP level .

One of the devs posted a pic of it a long while back (along with the original blueprints for Hydro). Now what are the handles of all the devs here? I can only recall:

    solus
    -MSG-
    Ken Levine

    Any others?

They used to be here - unfortunately the images have all gone down since I last looked.

Any idea what the Japanese level was going to be about (Unless it was just a level for testing the engine or something)? An alternate training maybe?

It was part of 'Where Am I' - the story had one of SHODAN's creators having an asian background which then became part of the Machine Mother. I'm glad they used Citadel instead.

That screenshot just makes me drool for an asian-themed Thief level.

But killing through those 'paper' walls would be neat.

But thay would have to be objects and the poly count would go through the skyhack.

If i'm remembering correctly, one of SHODAN's primary developers was of Japanese descent, and since the player was travelling through her "memory" ... I thought it might have been cool to have a small bit of the last level move through a Japanese-stylized area.

So I created a few textures and constructed a mockup of the area ...

Ken didn't like the idea, so I scrapped it.

If you are interested in seeing any of the textures or architecture, click [here].

The archive contains a few .mis files, a .vbr multibrush, and the "japan" texture family. I'm going to assume you know what to do with these.

I cannot guarantee that any of the mission files will load. Give them a try, and let me know if you have any questions.

I don't want to laugh at your comments twice in 20 minutes, but under the circumstances, I couldn't read that without giving it .

Maybe I'm just in an easily humoured mood... or something.
