Yeah Steam has shown that this will be VR only. I won't be buying a 400.00 +USD VR rig to play!!
But the 2014 Thief game IMO was not that bad I liked it especially when you could get it cheap.
Not fan mission related unfortunately, unless burricks have learned to fly.

I got it for $1.25 in 2017.
I still feel ripped off to this day.
I personally enjoyed Thief 2014 when it came out for some time... The city design was gorgeous and atmospheric, and some of the missions were enjoyable. But killed the joy for me eventually was the lack of Hammerites and Pagans.
i never played thief 2014 as i knew it was junk, i never even seen a full walkthrough of the game on youtube, i wont be getting some vr junk game
i am still waiting for "thief 4 cannon" to come out, but after seeing how old the guy who voices garrett there probably not enough time for that
thief 3 came out on May 25, 2004, so we haven't had a continued storyline for 21 years, there is no excuse for that
not sure why they just don't reform looking glass studios and make thief 4, they could do it for cheap on thief 2 new dark and have plenty of time to make it, they could do a prequal thief 1 and post thief 3 game
ion storm in austin broke garretts hips, and canada made a thief 2014 not appealing to a thief fan, what is up with the inviso baby bumpers on edges lol cant fall off, and jenever is still a bird poor girl in the vr game
even kevel wont make an appearance in the newer thief game's
I like where you're going with this, keep it up. I won't be buying that new game at all. Last one that isn't canon stunk. Graphics good for the most part but took way too much away from what made Thief, Thief (i.e: Guard AI-pathing, ambients, and extra ambient backgounds, issues with the story, lack of Stephen Russell (Garret Voice Actor), no hammers or pagans. Rope arrows that can only be used in specific places and not like the real thief, they could go anywhere (this made the game also).
i was just speaking how i feel about lack of cannon thief games been 21 years and not one bit of new lore
the main reason i post anything is cause some people keep trying to say this vr thief is thief 5 when its not and thief 2014 is not thief 4 = total disrespect to thief series 1/g/2/3
not sure why the lore of thief 1/g/2/3 isn't defended more often on the boards i feel i am the only one left defending cannon games

The problem with Thief 2014 is that we had previous games to compare it to. If the first three Thief games had never been made, we wouldn't have known the difference. We call Thief 2014 Thief 4 because it is the 4th iteration of a Thief game to come out. What it is titled and what we refer to it as can be different things.
it should be called "thief 2014 reboot not "thi4f" or "thief 4"
the picture everyone seen that was "thi4f" was not the game we got, they changed it during production to "Thief" dropping the 4 = letting it be known it was not part of the cannon of 1/g/2/3.
and thief vr is not thief 5 and what ever other names they will come up with till launch and after
i understand what you mean john, but people need to be correct as some people might not know the correct cannon from reboot = newer players/members of board
i do it for the master builder and dewdrop and healing fruits and the intruder painting, even for the burricks as they have been banished from newer series
dont forget about the very first conversation we hear in thief 1 the bear pits, burricks now are getting the same treatment, and in the mission in thief 2 hunting cavador the 2 guard talk about the ghost of a burrick might disturb the dead, it for shadowed what happened
was there even any good art in thief 2014? or was it as bad as the loot, garrett the master thief grabs a spoon, smh
the % of thief lore is more correct then Nostradamus ever was, healing fruit is the forbidden fruit of thief and my fav, when thief 4 comes out they will have bottle healing fruit juice
They are trying to sell the same thi4f game again to make up for the losses. It will not work. Especially in VR.
I'd assume next big main Thief game made by Eidos will be also a reboot but it should be designed seeing a larger trilogy and franchise. It can be done successfully. Look at the Doom Dark ages success. It reimagined the old game and leave the thread for the future. The same should be done with Thief franchise.
Thief should have stopped being made after Deadly Shadows. Anything after it is purely a mockery towards the fanbase lol.
i always hope that there is some kind of internal clash in hammerite itself, there are those who question historical errors of the teaching and those who adhere to historical revisionism
i think that would be a great plot to nuthief
