Just read the news that GSC is closing down.

Odd thing is that this has the same news release date as the link I posted above, which was less positive. Oh well.

GSC made a few announcements on the same day. The confirmation that Stalker 2 was continuing development was made just a few hours after the 'have hope' stuff.

Just to clear an apparent mystery

Four hours ago, the STALKER team posted this to their Facebook profile:

The Stalker team is extremely happy! Why? Because we are continuing work on Stalker 2 after the holidays.

Seems like a reasonable degree of confirmation.

I had to search down a bit before I found a legit-sounding confirmation for myself. Not that I don't trust my friends on the Official Stalker site, but just those guys saying it didn't make it true for me til I found this link.
