    Callsign "Virgin"

    Hi everybody!
After 10 years lurking around at TTLG this is my first post here. I just wanted you to know that there is someone playing TN for the first time. Thanks to all the information here I got it running (using DosBox) and have a lot of knowledge about how to crush things in the missions.
The game looks good so far, I only hope I can make it through the learning phase with all these oldskool controls. Luckily it´s not that different from ss 1.
If there are any questions or things to report I will be back here.

TTLG is my favorite gaming forum, since most of the games discussed here are old I always found that my questions were already asked somewhere so lurking was perfectly fine

Welcome to the forum - but 10 year's lurking? We don't bite (much), you know .

You've just reminded me that I need to get back into my Terra Nova play through for the first time as well. There are definitely a lot of overlaps with SS1, although the game has a very distinct feel to it.

Still hasn't been another game out there that captures that Terra Nova feeling, is there?

So, I made it to mission 15 now. Sadly I had a lot of work this month and not much time for playing. The game runs not very smooth on my netbook under Dosbox. But I sure wish there were a modern version with this kind of gameplay, can´t think of any game like this and I now lots of games since my first C 64 computer.
After reading through the ingame library I thought it could be nice to have a discussion about how bad the hegemony really is. Looking at todays world the deal seems not that bad to me: food, shelter, work and medical aid for the price of individualism and traditions. If you stick to their rules that is. I´m not sure I would like it but what do you people think about that?

I remember this thread from 9 years ago discussing how the hegemony was not depicted as much of a villain after all.
