I just heard Melanie Safka died. Six days ago now. She was a wonder to hear in my childhood. Lay it all down, beautiful Melanie.

And for me this is the ultimate Donovan song. "When I look in my window... so many different people to be." Beth once asked me, "what do you want to do and who do you want to be?" about my quandary over what to do with my young life. Everything and everyone, I answered. "Well you can't do that", she said.

sp4f!!!!!!?????? Don't believe I've seen you round these here parts for uh.... a decade or so? What have you been up to?

Only Reol song I know is LURVORRATTORRRRYYYY or whatever. Found it on a Beat Saber custom track. It was good.

ANYWAY, I guess I don't listen to much rock these days but I did just find a great new band.

Yeah, Viagra Boys. Their new album Cave World has a lot of groovy bangers on it.

Heyhey henke, long time no see.

Yeah, life & a bad relationship dragged me away but I'm well out of that now. Sorta coasting right now but over the years I taught myself to make jewellery, learned traditional hedge laying, helped run a small mental health charity among many other things. How're you?

As for REOL I recommend the following:

REOL - ECHO (Cover of the Crusher-P song):

REOL - Give me a break Stop now:

Viagra Boys are cool, had them pop up in my recommends a few months ago. If you like them I reckon you'll probably like the Sleaford Mods, Amyl and The Sniffers & The Chats. More of a punk edge than the Viagra Boys but sort of the same ethos I think.

    Sleaford Mods - Jobseeker:

Amyl and The Sniffers - Guided By Angels:

    The Chats - Smoko:

And another legend gone too soon. Damo Suzuki passed away this morning. Talk about a guy who squeezed every drop out of his time on earth.

Fantastic collab. It's not really meant as a competition. E.g., Marty Friedman's intervention isn't the most technical but probably the most transcendent and perfect for this. But if I had to vote, Herman Li brought the house down, I thought. But there were a lot of high points, a tour de force all around.

One of those tunes I had on in the background, and a few minutes in "Oh shit, what's this?"

I just bought Thierry Zaboitzeff's new album Le Passage, so that's what I'm listening to. Some of his music was used in NaissanceE, which is why I know about him and the NaissanceE developer, Mavros Sedeño (who is working on his next game, SenS, by the way), tipped me about the new album.

Well he is dead now, the guy I lost my virginity to. I mean the song of course.

It really was the perfect song at the perfect time.

Also, as always, Rolling Stone was completely wrong. I've never seen them predict a single hit or appreciate any song worth a damn.
