Yeah, there's that too. Dunno why I thought exclusively of uninstalling.

One that's annoying me is that if you want to see which games are actually installed, it only shows the GOG games.

That's weird. It used to show installed Steam games. For some reason, it's not doing so now.

To be honest, if they fix that, I'm much more likely to be using it as my primary launcher, as it's incredibly snappy compared to all the other platforms I've got installed. It launches almost immediately.

Hang on. I can launch games (but not uninstall them) by right-clicking its icon and then choosing 'play'. I also see every installed game that I have on any platform.

I seem to be running version 2.04.10.

Nevermind, sorted it. For some reason, my Steam and Uplay accounts had unlinked from Galaxy, so I just had to connect them again. And now I can see all the games I have installed across all platforms.

I suspect that due to the hackery they use to scrape Steam, it will end up getting logged out frequently and requiring a re-connect.

Yeah. I'd suspect valve of putting in things to discourage people from using it.

Valve have official APIs that allow other sites to access your data, if you grant them permission.

The GOG Steam integration just doesn't use them, instead opening a web browser and scraping the site. It's always going to be buggy until they tear it up and rebuild the solution to properly use the APIs.

Is Galaxy 2.0 tracking "playtime" for games on the Epic platform for anyone? I recently started playing Abzu and played it for an hour or two, but according to Galaxy I still haven't played it at all. Then again I can't find a way to see how long I've played some game even on the Epic Launcher itself, so perhaps Epic just doesn't track playtime at this stage.

Yeah, Epic doesn't track play time yet (it's in their "coming soon" list, IIRC), so GOG has no data to go on.

I think GOG are planning to do their own playtime tracking as well, but that's also not currently implemented.

I'm not sure how GOG exactly scrapes info from the other stores, but there's a Github project for adding other libraries, such as battle.net and Oculus:

    Video detailing the atlas update.

    This is looking really good.

Good grief, even Rockstar are at it now with their own launcher: https://www.engadget.com/2019/09/17/...&utm_source=dl

While I don't really care if it's just another client, I sincerely hope they don't start pushing exclusives (i.e. Epic, as well the new range of upcoming streaming platforms) leading to greater fragmentation.

Be just another plugin we'll have to get for the GOG launcher.

Galaxy 2.0 has become my main launcher at this point. Apart from having to reconnect to Steam every now and then, it's working flawlessly for me now. I'd still like to have some more library customization options, but I'm confident that there'll be more features to come in the future, so I'm a happy customer right now.

Anyway, has someone had a look at the "Library" tab on Steam lately? It seems that they've pretty much shamelessly copied what Galaxy 2.0 did, but they've somehow managed to make it look uglier and more confusing.

I haven't used it as much recently, but that's more to do with what I'm playing at the moment.
Outer Worlds I'm playing through the Windows store thanks to Xbox Game Pass, and Destiny 2's chat is tied in to Steam. But for anything else, such as Noita, Streets of Rogue, etc.?
Yup, would still rather use Galaxy 2. 'tis a grand thing!

Yeah my Steam updated last night. I completely HATE it and it wont let me turn it off. Gah. It looks awful. Why didn't they have a "Classic Mode" button to turn it off.

I've probably mentioned it before, but IMO the main thing GOG 2.0 needs is to have the context menu on the tray icon show a list of your recently-played games, like Steam does.

That's usually my main method of launching games from Steam, and if I could do that from Galaxy, that would be great.
