    Intro video does not run

The intro video for Flight Unlimited 3 does not run since I reinstalled the game post formatting the HD and reinstalling everything.

Could someone kindly help resolve this issue?

    My PC config is:
    PC: HP Compaq dx7500 Microtower
    RAM: Corsair 4 GB
Graphics card: Zotac GeForce GTS 250 ZT-20105-10P
    OS: Win Vista SP2
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7600
    Monitor: HP LE1851w
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Profession1al Series

Looking Glass tended to use the Indeo codec for their FMV, so you most likely need that. The game should have installed it, but apparently the installer doesn't register the DLL on Vista (and later, presumably), and you have to resolve that manually by executing this at a command prompt:

    Code:
    regsvr32 ir50_32.dll

There are some entries related to ir50_32.dll already in my registry.

See files titled Registry entry at https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resi...O0huCPqnCzgAiM

Do I still need to run the command you've provided?

I don't know, sorry (I do my gaming on Windows XP). Personally I'd be inclined to try it and see in this instance, but that's just me.

p.s. It's possibly just that I have javascript off by default, but your skydrive links never show me any content.

I do not know Flight Umlimited, but I am a Thief player, which also requires ir50_32.dll.
Those registry keys do not look very familiar to me... maybe they are from some other vendor.

One thing you should know: on Win7 (and probably Vista as well, I guess) you can no longer register that dll as described.
    A few changes are needed.
    - create a batchfile (eg. registervideo.bat) and edit it with an editor
    - add this line and provide the full path to the dll and save:
    regsvr32 C:\whereever\that\file\is\ir50_32.dll
    - then rightclick on the batch file and select 'Run As Administrator'

At least on Win7 not providing the full path and running as Administrator would fail with 100% certainty!
Did you get an error on attempting to register the dll ?

There was no problem registering the dll since I just used the batch file method to register it. In fact, new entries were introduced into the registry. However, the game's video still does not play.

    Please advise further.

I have the MediaCodec Windows Essentials Codec Pack v4.1 installed.

I don't know if anyone would find this info useful in helping to resolve the problem.
