The author of this campaign is "anonymous", but I can see he is a Kundera fan. Which makes it quite obvious who he is

I've seen a reference to Ouroboros in the thread, but I never found it myself. Can anybody give me a hint as to where it is?

Hint please! Just me then - where is that darned Catacombe key? I have been all over, no one left standing, bodies/drunks searched, safe contents safely in my swag bag, Cathedral ransacked, rooms cleaned out, rooftops and armouries pilfered and emptied and I still haven't come across a key!

Off for another run through the streets and Cathredral........

EDIT: Found! Possibly the only place missed on the sweep of the entire town - as per usual I might add.

I've been up and down the tower with the respawning haunts where can I find what's supposed to be in there?

Big hint: you need to find something to activate on each of the four floors

Great campaign, but is it just my set up or the missions (specially the second one) are excessively dark? Even with gamma set to maximum (which makes everything look very ugly) I can barely play some parts of them.

This is my second playthrough of this FM set and this time I have decided to ghost it. Mission 1 during my first playthrough was just OK, I was just exploring and completed all objectives accidentally. But on my second playthrough I had opposite feelings. I knew where everything is, so I could explore the city more strategically. Also ghosting this mission was actually more fun than playing it normally. Which is weird, because I actually don't like ghosting missions.

Mission 2 impressed me more, because of technical stuff and riddles and atmosphere. But during the second playthrough I have realized that this mission wasn't made for ghosting. Most of areas are very easy to ghost and also there is a bust of the ghosting very early in the mission: there is no way to leave Water Shrine with Water Talisman without being spotted by 2 floating scimitars. I thought that maybe by swimming I will ghost it, but the entrance is blocked by stone gate. The rest of the mission is quite easy to get through without being noticed (and by the way I'm talking about avoiding second alerts, first alerts were OK for me).

The most interesting and challenging area in Mission 2 was Halls of Eternal Tranquility. It was really tough place. I had really big problem with zombie alerted by magic bolts and once zombie froze in front of the ladder (luckily he unfroze when I reloaded previous save).

Also I have a question about flying lanterns. Is their giggling first or second alert? I assumed it's the first. Also when I activated trap chest in Hall of the Hundred Heroes, the lantern got scared and run away from me with double speed. That was a view.

I did a ghost-ish run myself a few days ago, and while I didn't succeed, I did manage to leave the water shrine without being spotted. Scimitars will still second alert to the trap, and since you trigger it yourself, it's a bust. However, you can avoid the direct confrontation with them. The method is pretty simple: you can block the door with any object. I used one of my potions. Once you pick it up on your way out, the door closes completely. I really didn't want to give up on ghosting this scenario, and I'm glad I found a way to, if not succeed, at least lower the severity of the bust.

As for the Halls of Eternal Tranquility, there is indeed a zombie who alerts to a trap, but that is no bust itself. An alerted zombie just makes that area more difficult to sneak through. Besides, he probably would have alerted to you jumping into the water anyway. There might also be a way to ghost that area. I have an idea, but I'll have to experiment when I replay the mission.

Floating lanters do not react to you at all, so I don't know if they even have to be ghosted. They do react to traps, but that's easy to avoid.

If you are talking about zombie alerted at top of the structure then the easiest way to ghost I found was to get far away and return. So I went explore Burrick Caves and when I return zombie wasn't in my way and he was normally patrolling like other zombies. If you are talking about zombies at the bottom then, I think, laying zombies get alerted only when you are close to them or damage them. So noise from falling into water shouldn't alert them, but I didn't find a way to get purse without getting first alert from zombies.

I really liked the second misson, especially the flying lamps sadly i they become really boring after realising that they dont attack you.
One thing bothers me though. In the first misson there is only one ladder going all the way up to one of the church towers, is it possible to open the hatch?

Yes, thanks. Just my habit of going clockwise around just about everything - and being unobservant of course!

A have yet to find the Grimoire, it must be fairly obvious as no one else appears to have mentioned a problem- but not to me at the moment. I have managed to solve all of the other puzzles myself including the Mathematician which was easier than I initially made it, but this last location is eluding me thus far.
    spoiler:
I thought that Knoss might have it in his tomb - but no luck there

So, a nudge might be appropriate at this stage as I have covered a lot of ground so far with no sign of the book.

Have you collected all the relics (body parts) and "used" them on the statues in his chamber?

That should activate a 'particle elevator' that lifts you up to the next area.

Hi jiansonz. Yes, have completed that and stolen the loot from his tomb which was quite difficult especially
    spoiler:
with the two contra-patroling haunts (on Normal difficulty)
. Currently on 4248 loot and just the last objective to tick off but for the life of me I cannot see where I am overlooking the Grimoire! I do not fancy going back to that particular area either - it's quite a challenging section for my limited thieving abilities.

Edit: Found it! Thanks jiansonz, your post prompted me to explore and look more diligently.
    spoiler:
now how am I supposed to retrieve the Grimoire from there without getting killed?

EDIT 2: FIN! 5 hours 30 mins, much of which was spent hiding in shadows and going around in circles. A very enjoyable mission which rewards patience and planning. Although I am not really a fan of horror FM's, this was generally easy to navigate past the AI's on Normal difficulty. Quite confusing at times and bit dark even with gamma up to max but some lovely touches and innovations throughout.

Hint #1: Check your maps. Have you been everwhere yet?
Hint #2: Look at the southwest corner of the last page of your maps.
Spoiler: It is in the Ziggurat of Elders.

I was finally able to play through the whole mission today and I must say this is a very impressive mission. I had fun being sucked in by the gear!

Just finished mission 1 and really enjoyed looting the town. But... I finished 295 loot short which irks me a bit 'cos I thought I had roped, jumped and slid my way through all the buildings... I had a wonderful time! I looted both towers and the only place left is the bell towers which I don't think I got in to. I collected the Docs loot. I found only 1 switch in the mission - is this where I've missed something? Any thoughts on less obvious loot locations? ... or perhaps its the obvious I missed! Anyway mission 1 is the style of mission I most enjoy and it is superbly done - thankyou. Now on to part 2.

Finished mission 2 on expert in 2hrs 20mins with 4123/4973 loot. Generally I'm not a fan of undead but they were easy enough to avoid. Appreciated the map so I didn't get lost. I thought the mission was a bit too dark and with max gamma it made things look ugly.

I found a Talisman of Atonement (not sure where) and wondered if there is a place to use it?

Finished both missions in 4 hrs 23 mins. I'm sure that was about 8 hours real time with all the re-loads as I had some trouble in mission 2 standing on edges, jumping and clinging / catching edges... probably my bad jumping technique!

Enjoyed the atmosphere, gameplay and riddles. Thanks for a great 2 mission pack.

I'm about half way through all the contest missions. I've so far awarded three missions with 9 silver hammers. This was one of them. Bloody well done!

    Question
    spoiler:
what was the trick to the tower of doors? I couldn't figure it out so I just kept reloading until I got the correct sequence.

It took 3hrs 23 min with 4156 loot on expert without a hint at all. This was absolutely fantastic. One of my favorite missions period.

The correct doors all have a certain sound emanating from them - a different sound than from all the other doors.

Both parts are amazing! But the part 2 - the catacombs - are just extremely impressive!!

    Thank you for these missions!
